Whilst on my ride into work this morning which is a mix of fast roads and town stuff I got a bit carried away and redlined 1st through to 5th gear I don't know why I did it I was just capitivated by the noise and my god what a sound our bikes don't half sound good at full chat don't they?

It just sounded so good I could feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and other than the Fireblade only two mechanical things have ever managed to do that to me the first is the sound of a supermarine Spitfire (you just can't bear the roar of a merlin engine) and the second is the sound of a Ferrari F40 LM jesus what a note that thing makes..

Anybody else got any others they can add to that list?

Bit stupid redlining 5th gear on the public highway, that must have been about 160mph!

I try and keep under a Ton on the roads as it's an instant ban on anything over, and the Government is currently looking at forcing anyone banned for Ton + speeds to have to take an 85 minute extended driving test to regain their licence at the end of the ban!

    Get Track day'in OP! ;)

Same rule of thumb for me mate unless its earl/late in the day or its a road I know in the middle of nowhere. Its difficult on the blade because it reaches 100mph soooo bloody fast. Especially when geared down as well

I did that in France this year on early sat evening heading to Andorra, reminds you just balistically fast any litre bike is when maxed out - At least you did not film it and put it on youtube or similar (nor did I for that matter!)

surely the bike goes 180+ :D:D
That's the main reason why I only do track days, used to hit the highway and by the first exit (1.5m ) was redlining 6th at 300km/hr on the clocks..... day in day out all summer long, till I got some sense and knew I'd either be caught or I'd end up dead  track only for those speeds....

can't believe some come on here being all holy and all like the've never open the blade up  really???? you should have bought a 125 then :D :D

    How tall are you.......?

No burners on a Vulcan dear-heart, those climb outs were all down to grunt and wing loading.

Totally 100% agree, anyone who says they haven't given the blade a load of beans is either a liar or owns completely the wrong bike.

Isn't it just. 5 days with nothing to worry about, on your own, great weather, no pressure, little help from our col.... Proper escape from the world!!!

I loved it. Sat on the grass for about an hour on the 2nd pic, and don't think I've ever felt so chilled....
