A rectification notice may be given ,You then have to take the exhaust off, go to an MOT station with the old one on and get a note to post back to the police station to say the issue has been sorted. If it's over loud then stick a DB baffle in .In general i would say 60% of bikers have modded the exhaust mainly for looks and these would be not for road use ,In my experiance of getting pulled ,the police know all about them but don't seemed to be that fussed .So remove the sticker and enjoy.

I have always run with lounder exhausts but I don't take the piss when riding so never had any issues with the BIB with a loud can.

Mot failure and if you crash the insurance may not payout .. Police won't give you a ticket , Possibly a 14 day thing to get it changed and stamped my a garage ..

Just fit it mate .. Plenty of boys on here have that can, and girls ( NT lol )

There is only one cure for a loud Harley and thats to make a bonfire around it and spark it up whilst feasting on Black peas and parkin

Worst case scenario = IN10 riding with no insurance I think. Minimum 6 points and £200 fine.

Work this out, some inshurance co.s like Carol Nash do not list mods like exhausts as extras they say if the exhaust is covered in the value of the bike they do not need to show it. This leaves a massive gray area for the police that may pull people over and question if there inshurance covers mods they have done to there bike. As for if its marked not for road use then its clear its for race only.. Its far from clear..

Ins would still covered for 3rd party even with the dodgy exhaust, prob just wouldnt pay out on your bike tho (they look for any excuse!!!) I doubt very much the police could shaft you for an IN10

It was there choice too, I never asked but they listed the parts Akra inc and many others and said they would pay up to the market value on repairs..and they did.

It's not really the exhaust that I'm bothered about its the stamp on the side that says not for road use.

Carol Nash, as for the stamp yes the law is if it reads "Not for Road Use" then it means just that, my advice would be to remove it. Some systems you can order spares for that do not have the markings on if say its on the band for example, a lot of agro maybe but if it bothers you....

Dont get to upset about a sticker we have be removing this crap for years ,If you are worried about a sticker you best be selling the blade because at 160+ MPH that may need some explaining (Deal with it and get over it!)
