So, like a pleb i lost my keys the other week in London, inc Car and Blade.... No problem, i'll get new ones cut / copied from the spares I have. Car not an issue, but cant find the Honda one anywhere!!!! bollox.... obviously i'll have to have a proper look round (it must be somewhere) but if lost need to look at the options. Obviously it's a track bike and want to do a bit of racing so think the ignition has to be removed anyway - Jase/Robin/Wedge?? Phoned dealer and your looking at a grand for new ECU etc which is a drama, dont want to go this route to then have strip it off - get me? Other option i've seen from looking round is a HRC ECU and Wiring Harness, again £900 which yes i will get some benefit, but i would rather spend that on suspension upgrade for next year.... so whats going to be the cheapest and easiest way to get my bike running if i dont find my spare key!?!?!?!?! thanks in advance.
Was this your rugby outing by any chance mate?? Sorry I should be more understanding of your awful predicament or at least offer some useful advice on the above issues.....
Was indeed. keys fell out Jacket pocket, i think, so nightmare all round. thanks for your kind words of condolence though. always touching
Mate this may be of use to you?? Ignition bypass write up.......3 different methods : Honda CBR 1000RR Motorcycle Forums: 1000RR.net I've looked around and I'm guessing a race ECU would probably be silly money so there are ways to bypass the system but you do need one good key for the HISS system generally....
In a strange twist of events - spurred on by navvy's kind words and staring down the barrel of doom and a thousand pound unwanted bill.... I called twickers once more in an act of desperation!!!! They have them!!!! Woooo fcuking hoo!!!! In your face navvy So what rear shock will help me spank navvy at snet!? Lol Thanks dude... I owe you one On a serious note, if I still need to work out what I have to do with the ignition. Lol
I asked the question the other day on here about removing my ignition got this reply luckily I still have the key so unless the key turns up sorry mate could be a dear one. http://1000rr.co.uk/mods-upgrades-accessories-products/14318.htm hiss is the honda security system, you can only remove it by using a HRC loom or getting the loom rebuild and using a HRC ECU, otherwise no way of removing it.. what people sometimes do is take the chip of the key and place it in the HISS ring and relocate it somewhere... remove barrel and reconnect a start switch instead of the key....
Cool, thanks for the info Jase - but as above! i now have 1 key!!! do you have to move the ignition to race then dude?
No you don't it's just something I want to do to save fecking about with key /alarm but it will loose you some weight meaning quicker lap times.
Or turning up to race or like my mate did in Spain with a weeks worth of track time to discover you forgot the key !! Priceless
Can't see what the panic was Jimbo, I have a spare key to my Blade I am not using at present, you were welcome to borrow that until you sorted something out..........
B*tch me and Dave are working on some tasty mods so I'm more than ready for your shandy drinking a$$ come track day season next year!!! I think I will start with the new HM GP QS and take it from there! You and me at Snetty is like the perfect date for me! Need to let her know she will only ever be number 2 to that excitement.....
Do you know roughly what times you've done before? For me Sub 2:05 is blistering pace unless you are on a track bike!! Obviously you will be and I will be on my mere road bike......
