899 is more bhp than an 848 and my 848 is quicker to the ton than a blade so I would hardly call it underpowered but it comes with more tech and kit than the blade. yes the other two havent changed either in looks (just like the blade) but you could buy them and have 3k change, wouldnt cost that much to up the spec of them up suspension and brakes but they both come with more electronic kit than the sp blade as standard(the R1 even has TC) so why pay more for less extras is what I am saying......honda seem to go the way of the I-phone looks the same but people still buy for the name/image??
Well guys (and girls), I think it is fair to say that we are polarised on this issue. Half of us don't want tech and the other half do. Honda aren't offering it next year, so you don't really have a choice. If you don't like your blade cos it's not techy enough for you, you are going to have to sell up and move on. Simples. Personally I'm a sucker for some nice shapely lines, sweet handling and a bit of swedish gold bling. Grab a Bratwurst or some Tagliatelle and off you trot

If you don't like it and prefer gadgets you won't use 90% of the time or need for bragging rights, then go buy the latest electronic suspension, TC, ABS, anti wheelie, launch control, race mode, normal mode, rain mode, shouldn't be on this bike mode bike and leave the Fireblade to the guys n girls who can still ride a bike without all that bollox
You must have a tuned 848 then because I have ridden a standard 848 evo and there is no way in hell it is quicker on acceleration than a Blade. Also spoken to my Honda dealer this morning who has had confirmation from Honda that the price difference on the standard blades next year is now not likely to rise at all so it will be same price as this year. The SP is looking at coming in at 15k and Honda are only producing 1 SP to every 4 regular Blades so won't be common as muck either which, is nice for the people that want something a bit different and a bit special. Getting a bit fed up of all the blade bashing going on now at the end of the day if a Ducati, R1 or Gixer is your bike then go buy one of them if you feel so hard done by with your Honda. Personally I don't get how anybody could be so p*ss*d off at the fact that they have arguably the most reliable and one of the best handling superbikes in the world that money can buy....

I was going to test ride an 899 just cos my local dealer has one so if helpful I can lend my opinion on which I think is faster? I mean I'll smash the duke in the name of research purposes if you guys think it could be useful.....
