Hi guys, my lightech levers do not have the anything to keep the clutch micro switch pressed, which does not seem to be a problem apart from GIPro gear indicator does not operate correctly. I removed the wires from the switch today, and although the gear indicator now works correctly, will there be any issues if I run the bike like this?
You wont be able to start in gear (with the clutch in). This can happen ie when you stall after an emergency brake for example, getting into neutral after this scenario is can be a pain. Happen to me on the motorway once!. The terminals used to work lose quite regularly on my CB1000r. Not sure if this is the case with the blade but with my previous CB if the clutch switch failed it would rev higher by (a couple of hundred rpm) in gear with the clutch disengaged, also a pain when stuck at lights.
No reason why not, just looked at the workshop manual and it is only connected to the starter relay side of things. Just remember to always check it is in neutral before starting.
yeah, just been messing about with it, and it does jump up a couple of hundred RPM when I select first gear, I can cope with this if this is the only side effect?
Have you not tried sticking a blob of epoxy metal on the inside of the lever? I'm guessing you only need about a mill or so.
Would if I could. Where the standard levers have a protrusion to depress the switch, the lightech levers have nothing, so it's not the case that they don't press the switch enough, but not at all, there would be more epoxy than lever!
