During the 8 years I owned my last bike it was always home serviced except for anything that I didn't have the know how or facilities to do (i.e. valve clearances, chain & sprockets change etc).
A mate of mine used to do all that stuff at mates rates which were a hell of a lot cheaper than a garage. Now I'm going to have my Blade serviced at a dealer to keep up with the service history and I've since moved further away so a 180ish mile round trip to get stuff like that done is a bit much. So I was wondering if anyone on here did work on forum members bikes in the North West area?
I'm thinking mainly of stuff like chain & sprocket changes but also anything else I don't feel confident doing and doesn't need a stamp in the service book.

John, best thing you can do is get involved with the North West lads, we regularly meet up in Summer and Winter ( non-bike). As your relationship develops you'll find that we'll be only too willing to help you out with your mods and servicing. My good friend And7rp2 (Andy) put my blade back together after an off at Oulton Park in return for his lunch if I remember rightly! :) Swings and roundabouts, I'll be happy to help him out when he needs me.

If you are able to get it over to Halifax can get loads done for you by my mate, but he will charge, just much less than a dealer.

He's breathed new life into my blade a few times, just don't ask him to replace the plastic under tray panel in a hurry (he did perfect job, just takes ages)

He's currently doing my head bearings, but last job was chain and sprockets

I tend to use the mushroom technique when it comes to my missus and my bike. Keep her in the dark and feed her muck!! :D

Congratulations. Mine seems to use some kind of telepathy to suss even the tiniest glimmer of independent thought.

Jond if your Ellesmere Port Chester area id be happy to sort you out. I have my service stamper but that doesn't mean a thing mate reciepts & paperwork & date's times is key, any Tom Dick & Harry can stamp in your service book. These main dealers don't do half the jobs they say they do.
