Well, if you fancy blowing a weeks wages on a night in a hotel, I can't recommend this one enough. We went there for our silver anniversary and it was brilliant. the Scarlet Hotel, Cornwall's Luxury eco Hotel overlooking the ocean
3 nights Mid-May 252 notes....not 'bad', but only really need somewhere to sleep & drink beer in the evenings though - may give it a miss (looks amazing though)
Doah! Yeah, might give that one a miss then......although, if we do the Wales instead, I bet it's much cheaper 'in the valley's'!
Hey ken you got off lightly there mind, it's costing £3800 to take me and the wife to cancun for our 25th for two weeks.
Not been to Cancun myself but my son took his family there earlier this year and they've booked to go again, so must be pretty good Tony. JD
Not quite mate, the reason we went there on our anniversary was that the date didn't match with the cruise around Iceland and Norway she insisted on. I could have taken her to Cancun twice for what that cost me.
Check out the moon palace, you wouldn't get two there for a cruise in Norway ken, I know they are expensive mind. a pal at work took his missus on one around the carribean. Lovely! But you've gotta do something special for the silver haven't you. Lol
True. And it was fantastic. Iceland's like a theme park for adults and I must go back. I saw active volcanoes, walked along the actual gap between America and Europe, circumnavigated an island younger than me, saw Minke and Killer whales, the Northern Lights, Geysirs, in fact the actual Geysir, the one all the others are named after, and barely had to leave my hotel room. The only problem is, she's got a big birthday coming next year and she wants to do something special for that too.
I know exactly ken, our lass had the (big) one in April this year and I did a surprise party for her friends and family, I was dreading it but what a superb night it was and when she walked in that room to the dj playing happy birthday I'll never forget the look on her face! Then the tears lol. I bet the northern lights were fantastic ken eh? That's certainly on our bucket list. Truly stunning mate.
We were at sea too so it was reflected off the water. We steamed out of a fog bank into it so it was quite spooky. Bizarre too, as everyone was slightly pissed, in evening wear, yes, I was wearing a neck bat, just wandering around the deck at 2 in the morning. Do it mate. If I was less of a cynic I would call it a spiritual moment. The spirit in question was Jack Daniels. I'd almost drunk the ship dry of it by then.
