I'm going to be riding through the winter and i'm thinking of getting some Rukka Argonaut textiles. I've managed to source the suit at half the UK rrp from a European supplier incl shipping and taxes. My question is has anyone used or are using this range or the Armas ( which is a slightly higher spec ) or can give any feed back on Rukka products in general.

I have a set of their trousers ...... very good quality . Never leaked , windproof , good fit .
Mine are the 500 weave . I believe they are as good as leather in the abrasion test .

On my 3rd set of Rukka, over last 15 years or so, cannot recommend them highly enough. Used 12 months a year.

Current set bought this year is the Argonaut, great suit, just have to keep the jacket ziplock siliconed to keep it free running.

Never had any of these suits leak.

The Armas has more supermaterial on it, if you are interested in it, you must try it first, as its like thick cardboard, I much prefer the Argo.

I reckon on about 7 years lifespan with my use, which is around 130000 miles.

Buy all mine from Bikerland in Germany, great service and far cheaper than UK

I have the Armas jacket and trousers and it's really very good. For all year round commuting you can't beat it as said, warm and dry and if you do get wet it dries out quickly as well. Watch the knee and elbow armor on the Armas, it's very tough and can easily scratch your paintwork.

Had mine for about 3 years now and apart from having to lube the lockout zip it's good as new.

Works great round the IOM as well

If you can stretch to it you won't regret it, good guarantee as well.

Don't forget that this years jacket come with D30 armour so earlier models without should be discounted a bit.

Try FCMoto for cheap Rukka gear. I have a slightly older Rukka but it is great. Just having it repaired by Chris at Ninelives and then looking at getting either the Athos or Argo but I don't know much about the Athos.
Has anyone tried to Athos please?
Great gear and much better IMO than Hein Gericke or other brands.

    Hi Paul,

Just to let you know that whenever we sell any Rukka products we don't hear off the customer again until they want to buy something else - no news is good news as they say!!! The only feedback that we ever get is good, especially when the weather turns bad!!!!

    Hope that this helps

    All the best

    Andy

I have an 54 Argonaut jacket for sale with the original armor + D3O elbow/shoulder armor which I sourced from Germany (it isn't available in the UK yet) I wore it for 3-4 months before shelving it.

I was just about to put it up on eBay.

The only reason I'm selling it is because it's a bit big for me.
I replaced it with a smaller one (52) in June, but the 1st one needs to go to a new home.
Or I need to start wearing a second back protector ;)

I originally looked at FCMoto as they're cheaper than the UK, but I negotiated a good deal in a branch of Infinity so went for it.
I went to FCMoto to get the second one (no rush as I didn't really need it in the summer), but I gave up after 2-3 months of waiting. Seems they don't have them in stock even when the website says they do

In the end I went back to Infinity and got my replacement. I had to order my size, but it took them 1 day to transfer it from another branch
The advantage of getting it in the UK is it comes with a 5yr repair/replace warranty. If you buy it from outside the UK then you don't get any warranty (which is stupid imo)

If the jacket needs repairing then you take it to the shop and they'll give you a like-for-like jacket while yours is away being fixed, which is great if you only have one winter textile.
I asked about selling mine and as long as I sell it with the original receipt then the warranty follows the jacket :)

It is great kit although there is one thing I'd advise of specifically to a sportsbike rider.
Not a fault with the jacket, but the zip locking mechanism has a button-down flap which covers the clasp.
I put a small strip of ventureshield under my tank protector just in case I ever forget to button it up.

Other than that the jacket is fantastic and I cant fault it.

    UPDATE :
Ordered from FC.Moto 1x Argonaut jacket and 1x Argonaut trousers plus shipping for the same price of the jacket alone if purchased in the UK. Order details said 5 days till items would be instock but i received an email 4 days later saying order now shipped complete via UPS. Tracked its journey over the next 4 days (incl a w/end) to its delivery.
Couldn't be happier, the quality and fit is fantastic. The material is a bit on the firm/stiff-ish side but is breaking in nicely and really isn't an issue. Nice big cuffs with velcro straps that allow easy fitment of gloves under or over, the lock-out zipper is a doddle and a snug fit round the neck from the neoprene collar and velcro strap. Press stud adjusters on the bicep and forearm give 3 levels of adjustable fit as well as velcro straps for waist adjustment too.
Went for a little run today with my bro-inlaw on his newly purchased YBR 125 and got caught in a few showers and this gear just laughed the rain off, toastie warm and bone dry.
Conclusion : They say you get what you pay for and this gear is top drawer especially when its at the right price. ;) Very happy.

Yeah, took my measurements then cross referenced with Rukka's sizing charts and went for a test fit, pretty much a perfect match and fit, I know some people frown on this, but if we live and trade in a European market then why do we in the UK have to pay such extortionate and over inflated prices compared to our Euro cousins, tax was paid at 1% less than UK rate and still the total cost was considerably cheaper than the trade price in the UK.

That's great news. I'd ordered exactly the same, but for some reason they couldn't fulfill the order no matter how long I waited.
May just have been problems with their distributor or something. Glad you got them quickly :)

Yup - couldn't agree more. That's why I tried them for the second jacket.
Although - the deals I negotiated from Infinity were about £35 over the FCMoto price (at the time)
Plus I got them to chuck in a free pair of thermal glove liners ;)
... and I got the warranty
