Thinking of upgrading my suspension next year, my bike is an 09 with 16,000 miles so the suspension must be due a refresh at the very least. Just wondered if anyone has any experience of suspension mods they've done and what improvement over standard it was. Any thoughts on going the whole Ohlins route or is K-Tech a better bet, was thinking just valves n springs on the forks and a rear shock
K-tech would be my choice for front forks! I changed my rear shock to the 2012 version and IMO it's a good upgrade if you can't afford to go the whole hog straight away with ohlins or similar
I run K-Tech valve kit in my forks and then I got a Nitron pro race rear shock for my R6 race bike. Big difference over stock and it is the area I would certainly address first to improve handling. K-Tech have a very good reputation, equally as good as Ohlins. Their 35DDS rear shock is superb and you should pick one up on motoforum for about £800.
Thanks for the replies guys, my main focus is on best value/performance for my money. I have read good things on the K-Tech kit though it's less well known perhaps than the spangley Ohlins stuff. Keep the comments coming please, any experiences good or bad. I'm waiting on a reply from K-tech and need to contact Ohlins uk yet.
