I like the idea (cos I'm a peasant) of the paying monthly by Direct debit. Even tho its an extra 5% i believe. Hey, at least we can get rid of god awful tax disc holders woohoo
Nah mate it actually GOES down somewhat Mainly due to there no need to print tax disc reminders or tax discs themselves No need post office to charge dvla to issue tax discs on their behalf Dvla have / are shutting all their local offices down end of this year - so saved millions on pay, rent on buildings, utilities n maintenance fir these buildings And less people needed at dvla hq ( swansea ) to deal with tax as it will all be done electronically So all this money saved they will drop the price abit Oaying by direct debit makes sense cus once set up u can forget about it until u change ur car / bike wotever And if ur buying a vehicle off sum1 u can check on dvla website if the car us tax or sorn just by the reg ( this chevk us already in place n u dont need to be registered keeper to check it ) So id say its a much better system n about bloody time
Mine is in a clear plastic bag sellotaped onto the inside of the seat cowl, always have em there n in 10 yrs of biking never had a issue And tax disc holders just look SHIT!!!
I quite like the idea of paying for it monthly, then i don't need to pay upfront for a year and get ripped off when cashing in 3 months worth.
Last time I got stopped, he finally got around to the lack of tax disc on display, I told him if they could stop the feckers nicking it then I would start displaying it, he agreed it was a fair point, so carry on as normal was the end result.
Mine lives in my seat toolbox bag - next to an emergency £20 I keep the one in the car behind the rear view mirror so I can't see it when I'm driving
