Big thanks to ArthurBikemad who supplied this, really easy to deal with and fully intend to use him for any bike maintenance I need from now on. Lovely bit of kit, although I found fitting the outside two plugs onto the coils a pain! Works fantastically well! Definitely recommended. I even found somewhere neat to mount the control unit: http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/...90871a0b2f99a434ad34f7991efb9_zps647e3258.jpg
Looks very cool! Great job mate, your very welcome. Thanks again. Any problems give me a call/txt anytime
Oy you lot nothing wrong with the HM Plus and under £400! Unlike the GP, BUT I will be testing the GP this week THANKS TO HM QUICKSHIFTERS!
Mainly the fact the GP has kill times for each gear the BEST bit is the HMSS system trims the kill times real time, so if one is too long it will release the ignition system as soon as the gear is engaged this can drastically reduce kill times for the slickest gear change! It also logs the time saved so you can look back and see how much time was saved for each shift and see the overall time saved for the whole session, another feature is as it knows what gear it's in it is able to ignore (inhibit) a "kill" for 7th I know I know there is no 7th but many riders including myself often shift for the sake of it to confirm your in top gear or in the heat of the moment you just forget how many times you've shifted up, when your flat out in top there is no time to look a at displays so it's easy just to "check" the box, the GP shifter does not cut the motor after 6th so no time is lost at all! Not even a split second as seen so many more times in racing it could be the difference of winning or loosening in a photo finish! And that's just some of the features Also coming soon is built in traction control!
I love my HM+ QS...apart from 1st - 2nd gearchange I very rarely use the clutch now for upshifting no matter what the revs, from just tootling along in traffic to flat out throttle pinned Enjoy yourself
As Arthur has said and so much more especially being able to use every gear instead of just from 2nd up or down which ever shift pattern you go for, standard or race, as you can set a different kill time for each gear which is one of the main reasons for not being able to use the QS+ They also allow you to see how much weight is transferred through the gear lever in kilos to help with the amount of sensitivity to use. Too many have it too sensitive and you should be able to touch the gear lever with your boot without the QS cutting which also means a very positive shift not just flicking the shifter. There is a lot more to both shifters Plus and GP than just for track day enthusiasts.
So I think it's about time I stuck one of these on my blade, they seem to get glowing reviews and often quoted as being the best mod you can make. Been speaking to our own Arthur and he's the man for the job I reckon. One question though to those that have them, are there any downsides at all or is it all good ( apart from the £400 dent in the wallet of course)
All good. The cuts on my hands have just about healed from fitting, and I believe Arthur is very reasonable for install, so consider asking him to supply and fit.
Oh yes, I remember fitting my power commander on my previous rr8, took twice as long as it should have, and you're right the old hands get a good slashing up too. Arthur will be supplying and fitting, just got to get a some time aside to get there. Glad to hear it sounds like they're all good.
Brilliant bit of kit, I know the GP is the new kid on the block but the HM plus is still the best QS on the market IMO for the price you get an excellent shifter with no real drawbacks at all the only downside is once you have had one you can't live without it Fitting is ok if you mechanically minded if not there's no one better than Arthur to fit it, plus what he doesn't know about them and the blade isn't worth knowing
what kill times do you guys use on your blade?? I think I had 65 ms on my 08 and it never missed a beat, but I'm not 100% sure…. I'm picking mine up tomorrow and then saturday the blade, so sunday will be a productive day for me.. QS, PC5, QAT, HM dash, Gilles rearsets, adjustable clip ons, quick fill petrol cap and other goodies… might do a build thread, not sure yet
Indeed, there is one downside. My navi couldn't find Arthurs shop and I ended up in front of a barn in the middle of nowhere.......
