Here's a pic of me from the Nurburgring webcam, waiting at the barrier to get on the ring.

How mad is it on the ring ? I've always fancied it but worried its full of local nutters in 500bhp twin turbo 911's being over keen shall we say.

The ring is an interesting place. The main problem with it is there's no consistency in skill. You've got race kitted 911's, kids in Mk11 Golfs on their way home from work, tourists in hire cars and the odd florist van zooming around. Although it's officially a 1 way toll road and subject the German highway code rules, a lot of the non-German clientele don't pay too much attention to it.

The 1st time I nearly got knocked off twice on the same lap. Decided 1 lap was enough for me, it was too dangerous & would never go on it again. The the tour leader we were with came off, and that validated my decision. Aside from the obvious implications, cashing on the ring is expensive. €120 for every meter of Armco you damage, €120 if you spill any fluids, €120 for recovery and €120 per 24 hour period of storage - you get the picture.

The 2nd time we went there, there were hardly any cars, so I took the pressure & did a lap. It was awesome & hooked me, so I was straight back out again. You've just got to ride it like a fast road you don't know, always keeping in your mind that if there's a blind crest, the road will drop immediately away 90 degrees with a camber change. It's a wild ride that really engages you. I'd wholeheartedly recommend it, as long as you approach it with a considered amount of caution.

Quite a lot if you are called Rossi. Otherwise i would imagine a steak and kidney pie would cancel them out.

They are lighter, stonger and more resistant to corrosion than the standard spacer. Due to the additional strength minimises the flex at the fixing point of the frame.
