Bought a new family bus Skoda Octavia VRS DSG TDI CR170.

First impressions are good, it's really a Golf MK5 with different panels sure they share the same chassis.

Picked her up locally 34k miles couple of bits I'm not happy with and a few bits to sort in the New Year purely cosmetics and annoyingly viewed the car it had Michelins on the front and Continentals on the rear when I left the deposit. Collected car and clocked two new Landsail?? budget tyres on the rear axle after 500 miles I want them off noise from them at speed is awful.

DSG box is fantastic coupled with the multi function steering wheel (paddles) you can really get her moving.

New wheels to order 3dsm 0.01 in 19"x8.5 with 225/35/19 Falken 453 tyres..

A small 30mm drop on Weitec GT coil overs and the aim is to get her looking like this once I can give her a real extensive detail after the weather.

That's the puppy! Charge a lot at the dealers for that check too! Got the parts database too at my dads should you need to confirm any ;)

Lovely wheel choice for the motor! :)

Lovely car mate, and the engine is really smooth.

I like the standard wheels, but thats just my opinion.
They are really well built also, I certainly wouldn't mind 1

Nice ! Looking into buying one too (combi vrs race blue)

Is the Diesel engine a bit responsive or is it still the good ol vw family engine?

I had the PD170 engine in the mk2 which was nice and quick. However the new engine is far better, especially in Sport Mode, throttle is very responsive, steering gets a little heavier, and it pulls almost like a petrol engine, till 3500 anyway ........

Ooops mid life crisis 19" 3SDM rims bought on ebay.

The CR (common rail) motor is a cracker, smooth and responsive 170hp too.

3sdm's with Uniroyal Rain Sport 3 tyres wait for the weather to warm up and I'll put them on.

With a Skoda everything they make is pretty good apart from the standard seats which are bloody hard. The VRS seats are lovely.Great cars.
