So I picked up my 2013 blade from Mark ( yorkshiregooner ) last saturday, I've been buying trackbikes off him for several years now, and he's never let me down….

The bike was a damaged 2013 that needed new forks, left clip on, clocks, clock bracket and the loom.. Mark replaced all the damaged parts and the only trace of it being a damaged bike are the few scuffs on the frame, otherwise it's a spotless bike.

Things I had on order or had already arrived

    Power Commander 5
HM Quickshifter( wanted the new GP QS, but just couldn't justify the price with all the other stuff I wanted/needed)
    Robby moto Quick action throttle
    IRC Master cylinder
    Gilles Rear sets
    Braided lines all round
    BMC Airfilter
    Set of WoW's
    Race Fairings
    HM Dash
    GB crash protectors
    Adjustable clip ons
    Quick release petrol cap
Arrow GP2 exhaust, but am going to have a modified 2nd can for the quieter belgium days ( 95db)
    Powerbronze race screen
    Renthal grips
    Pair Valve block off plates
    Starlane GPS Laptimer

This is how I picked up the bike from Marks on saturday, I also got a new set of fairings off him, which I have fitted all except the belly pan due to the exhaust that was still on and the fitment is spot on. It's a replica from the CRC I think, a bloody good one

    IMG_1810.JPG IMG_1808.JPG IMG_1811.JPG

I took me 18hrs for the round trip, but well worth it, even the 100£ fine I got 15miles out from the tunnel in folkestone for speeding :D :D

Every time I do something I'll do a little up date….
Feel free to comment of give me some tips advice

On sunday the first thing I wanted to check out was the HM Dash, I've been dying to get the dash on the blade, So I get the original dash off and put the HM in place, only to go and connect it to find out that the belgium suppliers sent me a 08-11 backplate, I was well gutted and had to wait to monday to sort it out… On monday I spoke to them, they spoke to Ben ( Le Rone here ) and There is no backplate with the GPS connector for the 2012/13 blade, they only have backplates for the new model which has the built in GPS….. I already had sold my GPS laptimer, and wanted the dash mostly for the laptimer, so I ended up selling the HM dash( sold in 1 day) and buying another GPS laptimer from starlane, as I have been happy with this laptimer for the last 3 years.

Took the tank off, airbox off and started with the pair valve block oof plate
    IMG_1854.jpg

That all went smooth, so while everything was open, I connected the HM Quickshifter loom and then the Quickshifter…
    IMG_1806.jpg

The robby moto QAT was installed as well, while I could get to the cables with everything still open
    IMG_1855.jpg

I had to take off the throttle bodies to get the cables right, as it was fairly tight to work, but all went smoothly

I then proceeded to put the throttle bodies back on, fit the airbox with the BMC air filter
    IMG_1856.jpg

Got the power commander fitted while the petrol tank was still off
    IMG_1858.jpg

Everything was fitted and the tank went back on, only thing to do now was take the orignal exhaust off and fit the belly pan which I'll be doing tonight
I managed to do some weight saving
    IMG_1862.jpg

I even managed to get the broom off the bike :D :D

Got he braided lines on that came off my R6, the front fitted fine, and the rear was a bit long, so I have to have a dig around and see if the other lines I have will fit or not, otherwise I'll be ordering a new line.

I gutted the front sprocket cover to only have the front bit of the sprocket covering, I think it looks half decent and I can now fit the QS without a problem with race patern shifting
    IMG_1864.jpg IMG_1873.jpg

I also got my 50mm adjustable clip ons on only to find out that I needed raised ones, so can't fit them any further and I have got my dealer looking into them, if he can't supply any it just have to get some ordered from Harris.

The GB covers are all installed and look lovely, hopefully they stay that way :D
    IMG_1865.jpg IMG_1871.jpg

Made a nice little plate to hold my laptimer, right next to the key, so no excusses for going slow :D
    IMG_1866.jpg

After buyign a second hand pair of VCR gilles tooling rearset and concluding that half the pieces are missing, I mounted what I could and ordered the several pieces missing, total cost to the missing pieces are close to 100€, damn those gilles tooling spare parts are expensive….I needed the spacer and washer for on the gear lever, also a new rod and and rose joint, hopefully all will arrive before christmas
    IMG_1872.jpg

I also had a word with my local supspension guru about the 2013 blades suspension, they have done quite a bit of testing with IDM superstock bikes and he recommend doing a shims change for the front forks with new oil and the same with a new spring for my weight for the rear… But I will be trying the standard settings for my first outing on the bike in Feb with FE @ Monteblanco in spain… I will dial the suspension in myself and set the sag when the build is complete, hopefully I won't be too dissapointed with it in spain, but seeing that my 08 suspension was stock and I rode some fast times it couldn't be worse than that.

Fairings went away t get sprayed yesterday, was thinking of getting them black and getting monster stickers done, but got them to do them plain white, and I will go down the TT legends style, just not sure if the newer paint scheme like wedgie or the older more retro colours, I still have about 3 weeks to decide before they need to be sent for stickering/wrapping…. Anyone with ideas, feel free to add ;)

no he's not selling fairings, or not that I know off ;-), but he can supply them, not sure who he get's them off, but they are CRC replica's, perfect fit, and not bad finishing, will let you know how the paint holds up, that tells a bit about race fairings as well…
have sent oy a pm about the price ;)

So I've taken my fairings away to get sprayed, I should hopefully get them back by the first weaken of Jan, but it's a mate who owes me a favor, so I can't really push him for time ;)
I've contacted the guy who will be wrapping the bike, that's all lined up to be dropped off on the 11th, so I'm hoping that the fairings will have been painted and are finished by then... I think I'm going down the tt legends scheme, but not 100% sure :D

I've received my high powerbronse screen the other day, happy with it. Harris clip-ons have been ordered, might be here before X-mas, but no real rush..
Bike will be getting dyno'd next week, so we'll see how many bhp it has, I'm hoping around about 170-175
My Arrow GP2 that I took off Spud's hands has arrive and I have fitted it, fitment isn't that great to be honest, but does it look good??? OMG this has to be one of the loudest pipes as well, I'm getting a carbon oval akra pipe fitted to the link pipe aswell on sunday, only for the quieter db days we have here in belgium.

I will take some more pics when I get some more work done and the akrapovic has arrived ;)

    Akrapovic oval on a cbr1000rr 2013 - YouTube

heres a video with the akrapovic can on the arrow GP2 linkpipe I'll be using for quiet trackdays as we only get 95db, I'm pretty sure I'll be under it now. For the other days I'll be using the GP2 can. All I have to do is take the exhaust bracket off, 2 springs and thats it, so not too much work to change the cans.
Ordered a rear braided line the other day, but it doesn't fit, it's to short. It might fit with the original rearsets, but I can't adjust the gilles rear sets with it, and I can't pull the brake bracket out to do a wheel change, so there going back next week, and they'll supply a new one for me...

The fairings are away for painting, haven't heard anything yet, so I assume all is going well there. I cancelled my wrapping as I'm just not sure what design to get done, so I've got some striping and decals coming in, so will have a play around with that first......

Clip ons still haven't arrived, hopefully this week, but I understand it's the holiday season and everything takes longer, so no prob's here...
Got round to putting a switch on the power commander 5 for dual mapping, all nice looking, kind of proud of how the wiring and heat shrinking went...

other than that, nothing to else to report until the new year....

    Have a good one guys!!!
