You need to replace every spacer ,washer, spindle , nut and bolt to get the benefit and then your talking big bucks
Yep I am running out of standard bolts, washers and nuts to replace with titanium. I have saved 2 kilos so far on these alone.
Are you getting everything made up your self mate ? Or have you bought some branded stuff as well ? How much do you think you have spent till now on TI
I have sourced my titanium from numerous sources like the usual companies. I have and do still buy lots through pro-bolt and often found kits were wrong. I have helped them to revise them so they are 100% correct. They use my repsol for some of the 2008-11 fireblade photos. If I can't find the parts off the shelf then I have a great UK company that makes them all to my specification. Not exactly sure how much I have spent but i reckon its well over £1k as one-offs are expensive to make. If anyone wanted to go down the same route, I can share the various companies I use to save them a lot of hassle.
If you combine one with a taylor made exhaust then it would save a good 7/8 kg together. Not sure I will try a racing battery as my bike ony gets ridden once a fortnight and often find the battery dead by then!
I say if you got it flaunt it!! But if it makes the bike look a bit blingy boy racer like! Fook the extra weight leave it as mr Honda made it
WI have reduced the front end unsprung weight by nearly 1/2 kilo which makes the steering even sharper than standard. It worked out cheaper than carbon wheels too!
Yes its all on the bike. I entered the Britains got biking talent contest and everyone said its a standard bike. I think i got a good balance between Race bike and a stock Honda bike.
Yes it would. Been in the HM Plant paddock a few times when they are setting up the bikes. Very nice and very jealous!
If money was no object mate , there was an ex BSB Swan fireblade on ebay a while ago .. Full spec . I think it was 35 odd grand . Worth every penny but a tad over budget for me lol
Yeah I saw that too but like you guys its way over my budget and if I m honest way over my needs too unfortunately. I think weight reduction is a great idea and personally would go for it over BHP gains every time as it improves performance, handling and braking not just engine performance which is all you get from BHP gains. However saying that I reckon its wasted on me as I can't tell any difference in performance, handling or braking when my bike looses 10kg from a full tank of fuel to an empty tank of fuel.
Now that i can post pics thru photobucket hre are a couple of my bikes taken the moment she came out the van and a couple of my rallying monster i know it aint a blade but it is still good fun
