I like the look of the Taylor Made Exhausts, they are a bit pricey but look the gonads. has anyone got one & do you have to do any mapping, or is it just stick on & go. I have an 09 Repsol that is just begging to be updated for Xmas.

    Cheers.

    Chris.

Do a search for more info. They seem to get mixed reports on here :- http://1000rr.co.uk/mods-upgrades-accessories-products/12596.htm

if you have a QS expect the carbon fiber to burn ;)
I think they look quite good, but performance wise not so I've heard/seen

Good looking exhaust but build quality is sorely lacking from all accounts

Yup. Also love the look but lack in quality by all accounts.

Think navvy had one, sure he will give you a bit of an owners low down.....

My mate has one on his 2012. I was shocked when he told me that he was going to buy one and I too pointed him to all the bad press these have got but despite this he went ahead and bought one. Well they must of listened to the criticism as it looked nothing like the pictures of the ones everyone was moaning about, very good quality and fits really well. The infill panel lines up perfectly with the exhaust outlet and looks the dogs. IMHO it is a bit loud but I think it is the best looking exhaust system for the blade. Some of the other makes of exhaust I have seen make the exhaust look like an after thought and don't really look like they should be there.

I remember considering a Taylor made last year, they look fantastic but when I met a guy with one on it became very apparent how Loud then are, I have a yoshi with no baffle and I'm happy with that, I think the TM is just too loud, nice though?

Probably stainless due to costs otherwise if titanium the price would go up a fair bit I reckon

    Haha love it Jamie! :D

yes that is rust and I painted it so you cant see how bad it actually had corroded over a winter when I didnt even ride it. Fueling is not good and absolutely recommend a PCV and remap. Power wise you will lose over 5hp on the standard plus a few torques too. It also has a not so pleasant shout and comes in over 104db so not track friendly. Looks wise tho I absolutely loved it and the clean lines really added to the aesthetics. Downside it made the swing arm yellow in the exhaust side.

I took it off as I needed a quieter exhaust for track use and aaftr a while started to dislike its shout. Also wanted more performance so went with a Yoshi took the power and torque in the right direction and brought back the wheel lifting under hard acceleration.

IMO I dont think it is worth its asking price but I also understand they have changed the materials used now but cant confirm that.

And yes be very weary of selling it on the forum, it is a very marmite exhaust and the guys who hate it hate it with a passion ;)

That's why I was asking mate. I think they look awesome one the bike, but an aweful lot of money if still made from mild steel

I have one and like it very much. Yes its mild steel and riveted but still lighter than stock and it is very loud but they do now offer a baffle. My bike managed 174 bhp with it fitted which isnt too bad for a slip on. I have heard of them rusting badly but I also know that their customer service is first class if you do have problems. For example, mine would not line up right and it affected the carbon cover. I managed fit it properly and they fedex'd 2 new carbon fibre trims to me even though I bought it a year before!
