Been looking for next years bike and have come up with choice of 3. 1- Fireblade SP 2- BMW HP4 3- Kawasaki ZX10 Which one do I choose? However, went to Chester Motorrad (BMW) dealer today and he only offer 6500 on a 13 plate Repsol with extras and 9000 on the clock, Honda dealer offered 8000 or 8995 if I put it up for sale in his shop today. Please help.
Well, thats a very personal choice... ultimately, what do you want to use the bike for?!?!? If I HAD to make that choice, the ZX10 is out as I've always thought it looks cheap...... would literally come down to a coin toss to choose between the beemer and the blade though, love them both! Having said that, I would probably keep the current blade, and splash a little cash on it (exhaust, PCV+mapping, and some uber-swish wheels)
Does it really matter what we think? At the end of the day your the one that's gotta live with it and ride it! The sp should feel very similar to your current repsol so you should feel at home in no time on it! They each have there own good n bad points. Have you ridden em all? What do you prefer is the real question you should be asking?
for looks HP4. But not that that trade in price the SP for rider. having taken the 10 plate blade and 190 plate Bm I loved the blade. But I know things have moved on from this
Sp all day long. Looked amazing in flesh Think the hp4 looks tacky tbh. Prefer the standard rr in motorad colours
I would honestly go with the SP given the three, didn't like the zx10 when I test rode it, I like the Beemer but prefer the blade and those px values would make my mind up
I liked the HP4 but if order today would not be available until end of April, could of got 3 track days in by then :-(
No HP4 or Fireblade SP available but off to Kawa dealer tomorrow to try ZX10, however road conditions shit round here at moment so might be a little hard to get a true comparison.
I found the riding position on the zx10 to aggressive for the road, I need it to commute as well, track wise its spot on... Also fueling was no where near as good as the blade IMO but please let me know what you think The engine is stonking though lots of power, not the best looking either but they were offering a very good deal on one
Brave man I couldn't test ride a bike in these conditions. Big excess + low surface temps + OEM tyres = ploppy pants
If I was buying now it would be the BMW (and nearly did buy an S1000RR this year) but to be honest I'd now wait for the 2015 blade as everything is pointing to a major upgrade: Exclusive first ever Fireblade SP to 'bridge the gap' as they know they're behind the curve. NO official BSB team as they are 'concentrating on a big comeback in 2015' (with a new model?) Honda tend to upgrade every 3 years and the current model came out in 2012. If you feel the need to spend money then a set of lightweight wheels and suspension mods will make a world of difference (and they might fit on the 2012 bike)
I'll let you all know how I got on tomorrow, but availibilty is going to be one of the factors and reading the Fast Bike review of the SP in Qatar this weekend the other.
I think they are all great bikes in there own area.. I've had them all ( 3 s1000rrs not hp4 tho) I'd be tempted to sell yours privately. Got to be good for 8k for a quick sale with the mileage. Spoke to this guy with the zx10 , it's s 2013 with 900 miles. Said he would take 8400 http://bit.ly/1gQnXkQ Must be worth a punt and not much to change
