So if I get some M4s I need to give you a ring Arthur And Colin have I ever told you how amazing you are and how nice the bike is looking
Surely without the locating dowel, there is a chance that the caliper can move on the mounting point with the constant vibration from the road. I work with machinery that creates a lot of vibration and I know that, from experience, no matter how tight the bolts or fixing are vibration will cause havoc and damage within a surprisingly short amount of time. Do you know whether the dowels are available as an accessory or did you turn your own ?? I can make or get some made if need be ...
Made them mate, the image is my tooling and dowels... I am sure the likes of PDQ etc have them, or you'd think so.
Thought you may have done, as I remember seeing a lathe in the background in a certain video posted recently
Ha, lathe here is older than me and in another workshop here, ColinBR is THE MAN for any lathe work let me tell you, I am just some school boy lathe opp he is the real deal for CNC etc!
I got HPK's on mine and didn't need inserts, is that a M4 thing? Also just so im clear (cause its always confuddled me) it goes .. OEM Caliper < Brembo M4 < Brembo 2 Part CNC HPK < Monoblock CNC < Random GP versions etc. ? My setup is Brembo 19x20 / Hel Lines / Brembo HPK / Standard discs
OEM brembo are not very good ..... And for owning them i prefer the M4 before the HPK. The hpk are very old calipers, just try the GP4RX , very good calipers.
Thanks! Thats always destroyed my head when looking at calipers etc lol. Yet to try the HPK's but looking forward to it
