Grantham Honda told me they can only get two bikes per dealer, one ABS and one non abs, if they can sell them at £17000 them market forces dictate that they are indeed worth it. I bought my 2011 on a 2012 plate for £9600 and it's an ABS Repsol, at that price I would purchase another new bike but no way would I pay 17000 for any bike
You could have the one on eBay at £20k if you fancied it..... I think lings have dropped their prices to RRP now.
Its very good marketing by Honda - take a stock bike, a little engine work, then bolt on some 3rd part (very good quality) parts, bit of a paint job (almost no extra cost there) and you have a special edition in great demand which is generating publicity and raising interest for the standard bike (which I think still gets the engine work? - could be wrong on that). As long as they don't then produce 'another' batch and bring in another 250 or so it means values will stay high Think Renault hacked off owners of Clio's when the Williams became a huge hit, so they did a second run and the 'premium' aspect to the first cars was lost overnight
