But looking ahead and being super optimistic that we won't have snow until Easter I'm after a little info.
I know this has probably been done to death but I'm interested in knowing what tyres people are running (fast road use and maybe the odd track day).
There seem to be a few decent choices out there, and I'm after something grippy that I can get a few miles out of, I have a few ideas but I'd really like to
hear your opinions... (I might even chart the results if I get really bored over the holiday, maybe not eh ?).
Many thanks and I hope everyone has a great Xmas !

Im currently running BT023 and they're mileage is awesome 4500 so far and counting.
Maybe not the grippiest of tyres but not bad wet and dry, maybe a little lacking in feeling in the wet.
either that or I'm getting a wuus!

I have been really impressed with the Michelin Pilot Road 3's a great tyre with stacks of grip on the road and a great wear rate compared to my usual choice of Metzler interact K3's which would be my preferred track choice but wear quickly on my commute.
Others I know have done trackdays on PR3's and lived them to bits a great all rounder !

The PR3's are that good I took the S20's off my blade after 100 miles to put them on :) I love them, I think the new PR4 is out early next year too ;)

Used roadsmart 2s this, got a trackday, many enthusiastic road rides and a trackday-esque scotland tour out of them. Front wears down much slower than front cos its never on the floor haha. Gonna try the new sportsmart 2 when it warms up a bit, will be doing less commuting on the blade next year so weekend rides and a tour will be enough for me. The RS2's are my favourite tyre I've used so far, had a few sets of BT-021s and 23s, diablo corsa 3s and PRCs, all had the original roadsmart and some bt-016s and one point. Never tried metzeler so can't comment on them. cheers

Have been using Dunlop D211's and having done trackdays and road miles they have lasted well.

If you want good grippy tyres that will last ages you can't go far wrong with Dunlop Sportsmarts. I did 3 trackasys, toured and the rear lasted 4500 miles and still had meat left. I only changed to D211's as I wanted more grip due to more trackdays. I used the Sportsmarts in the inters and they where great

well worth looking at or the newer Sportsmart 2's

I use the michelin pilot road 2's. The back tyre can go about 12-14k and the front about 17k. I used the qualifier, but they were gone in 5,5k. My trips are 90% in highway, 20-150km under rain (sometimes severe) cold (sometimes -3o C) and hot (sometimes 37o C). The next ill try the 3's. . .

Thanks guys, I haven't been around much this week so sorry about that !
I think I'll be trying some Dunlop Sportsmarts 2 as soon as the weather picks up, I'm also considering the PR3's, will talk to my mate about them as
he's had a pair for a while now - he had to go and look as he didn't know what tyres he had on his bike ! Now I need to 'tap' up Arthur for a few little jobs...
I hope everyone has a great Xmas, wishing you all the best wherever you are in the world !
Amazingly the sun is actually out where I am, I'm quite tempted ???
