    Hi

Just purchased a 2009 fireblade that im picking up saturday (cant freaking wait btw).

Do you experienced owners have any advice?

Im looking to get a new exhaust, whats the situation with the servos in the muffler, etc. Does it run ok when you remove them to fit an aftermarket system on?

Also whats a good system to buy? ive seen systems that have an S-bend link pipe and some are more straight? Is that a different model or do they both fit?

I thank you in advance and please excuse my ignorance lol

    HM GP Quickshifter and levers.
Unfortunately I can't advise on the later models re exhaust
Welcome to the forum and enjoy your new bike but be careful round this time of the year.

Race fit exhaust is very popular at the moment, then I'd say look at Akrapovic, Yoshi or Leo Vince. Most are slip on cans using a link pipe with the OE headers.

You can run without a PCV I'm most cases but always a good idea to get the mapping sorted to get the best out of the setup.

Congrats on the new bike looking forward to seeing the pics !!

Also as said HM plus or GP Quickshifters are excellent for road or track if you fancied one, but the list of bits you should fit would be endless

A can is a must. It just doesnt sound right with the standard dustbin pipe on. I use a Yoshi, but you won't go wrong with any of the ones Jamie recommended.
I did hear that the Leo vince works better with a Power commander though, so you'd probably need to factor in and extra 300 quid.

Once you start modding though it's a slippery slope lol

Exhaust is matter of personal choice tbh! You can get akrapovic's that come with a cat fitted and still use the servo or others like the racefit that makes the servo obsolete, all you have to do is make your choice then disconnect the servo cable if needed

racefit, arrow GP2 are nice loud pipes that have a straight link pipe, the rest have the S bend... google cbr1000rr 2009 + akra/leo vince/racefit/arrow to get pics of the can, then see which one you like and then do a search here, you'll find some great info here...

did I read correct saying a nice bunch of people here??? on this forum??? your having a laugh aren't you? there all a bunch of ....... :D :D

Yep the exhaust fits. All models from 08-13 have the same figment for end cans or full systems. You'll need an 08-11 fairing infill piece if you want to cover the pipe up ( the belly pans are slightly different shape.. I'm after 345 for the termi if its being delivered ( fully insured ) or 320 if you'd like to collect. They retail about 500 and its a bonnie piece of kit

You'll not be disappointed with it I promise .. Are you planning any other mods ? Exiting times eh
