John - few questions which will help diagnosis WHen you turn the key do you get the clock lights on / sweep of rev counter , does the HISS lamp go out ? If the kill switch is off and you turn it on do you hear the 'wizz' from the tail unit area (its the zorst servo doing a cycle)? If you try and start does the engine turn over? Good luck with getting it sorted - Hunts will be able to fix it I am sure - did they supply it?
I'll try the battery connections first just in case thanks mate. Yes Allblade, it does all of that except I have no headlight and when I press the starter button nothing happens at all!
Pass but it must have quite a lack of electricity if no headlamp / starter not turning (maybe a relay not pushed home is another option - easy to check, seat off, behind battery remove plastic cover and push them all down / home) - I rode from Manchester to the St.Bernard pass with my fuel relay just resting in place - only gave problems in zero temps / snow going over the pass - bike cut out all day and it was a 2 minute fix in the end.
Took trackbike to Kais today and as already said I had a service on my rear Ohlins shock and some attention to my forks concerning the judder under heavy braking. Well Nick put some stronger Ohlins springs in the front and hopefully this will cure the problem but I'll not get to find out until 7th February when I have my first 2014 trackday. Hopefully the weather will be kind to me!
That was his take on it Colin, and I have put a few pounds on since they were originally set up for me back in 2006!
Im looking forward to finding out what a proper setup feels like once I get mine done and back on the road for next season. I know from having good suspension on the SP that it makes a big difference and gives loads of confidence.
Rear Ohlins is 7 years old and he said it was mint inside, only problem with it was compression adjustment had seized slightly.
That's not bad considering it probably hasn't been used a great deal. Buy qaulity gear and it works out better in the long run.
Colin, the bike was bought new in 2005, Ohlins was fitted in 2006 and the bike has done over 41,000 miles and never been serviced. "Probably hasn't been used a great deal" indeed!!
