    Fitted my Brembo RCS today!!

Things to note before you start:

    Banjo bolt
As per my other thread check the banjo is the correct length and size. http://1000rr.co.uk/general-1000rr-discussion/15043.htm
OEM banjos are 10mm wide, Hels are about 8.5mm so you might find the bolt supplied will be too long. The RCS requires a bolt with a thread no longer than 10mm (the thread size is M10 x1mm, Jap masters use a larger thread).
Honda recommend to torque the bolt to 40NM!, on brembos it should be no more than 26NM.

    Reservoir
I decided to reuse the OEM reservoir, if you decide to do the same you will also need to purchase:
Adjustable mount - I purchased a ladybird one Ladybird style universal remote fluid reservoir bracket front/rear 95mm UK MADE | eBay

Pipe clip to connect the OEM hose to the MC, - the Brembo connection is narrower so the OEM clip will not provide enough pressure to ensure a proper seal, I bought one of these off Halfrauds, you might find cheaper options but I needed one ASAP.(for an illustration the OEM clip (black) is also in the picture)

    not too long after

Note how much closer the perch is to the switch gear than OEM, you need to move it this far otherwise the Banjo interferes with the fork stantion.

I also decided to service my callipers (http://1000rr.co.uk/maintenance/15147.htm) once these are refitted and I’ve completed the mythical full ABS bleed I’ll come back with a full review, I expect to report awesomeness

    Thanks mate,

TBH you shouldn't be worried about the ABS bleed done it several times, the first time it is daunting but once you've done it's pretty easy. In most cases (including this) you don't need to do the full bleed, only a conventional bleed plus the ABS valve units, it's when you need to bleed the power unit it takes more time. I'll do my best to film a video when I do the bleed to prove how easy it is :)

BREMBO RCS FRONT BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER 19mm x 18 & 20 RATIO "FREE DELIVERY" | eBay

Best offer of £229 including next day delivery. It's supplied from the UK so you have a nose to break if you need to to!. ..but you shouldn't need to got it the next day no hassles!

I didn't really drive the price that hard to get it lower but if you tried you could get it cheaper from this supplier.

Yes, been keeping a close eye on that website as I'd like the HPK M4 Brembo Calipers for my Track Bike.

Glad that's where U bought it as it seems to be consistently the cheapest source.

Did you get the matching Clutch Lever also?

I will do ( need to sell the ASVs to fund it though!!) but will buy the shorter brake levers also as I'm a 1 or 2 finger braker depending on weather.

Black Short Replacement Lever Racing style for RCS Clutch Master Cylinder | eBay
    or
TYGA BREMBO FLIP UP SHORTY CNC LEVER Brembo RCS19 or RCS16 radial master cylinde | eBay

probs go for the chinese version though

My callipers are also pretty minging some might buy some M4 from them in the near future if some second hand HPK don't come up first!

Good on you mate. I don't have the dangles to ride in this weather.

I will be following this thread with a lot of interest.

Also I'll let you know how the fitting of the king carbon hugger goes tomorrow as I'll be in the garage tomorrow for a bit of me time.

OMG it took an age of bleeding to get a solid lever!. I also removed my callipers so it took a while to bleed the system. As mine is an ABS had to also do the dreaded ABS bleed (sorry guys didn't have the chance to capture on video)
Also a quick note that brembo nipples are 11mm! ( who uses 11mm spanners!), I didn't have a 11mm spanner in my set but luckily I had a random imperial one that fit.

My test run was conducted on 20 ratio. I chose this first as I preferred to have less lever travel. The roads were slippery, cold and damp.
The difference RCS and OEM was marked, my initial impressions were much better, but it wasn’t a OMFG moment. I've just had some K-tech internals (the full works, valves, pistons and springs ) put into my forks and custom set for me, the difference was night and day! http://1000rr.co.uk/mods-upgrades-accessories-products/15009.htm

Normal braking was very good but the lever felt a bit ‘numb’. At first it was quite hard to brake on the limit before the ABS kicked in, there isn't much between applying max pressure on the levers and achieving max braking and when ABS takes over. Due to the road conditions the lever was a bit of a ‘trigger’ on hard application and harder to modulate than OEM.

The ‘feel' I've been after is next to no pressure felt on the levers until the pads hit the rotors then dead solid, I then expected to ‘feel’ the friction at the callipers and grips at the road surface I wasn't able to achieve this with this master.

At the moment my impression is the ABS system negates most of the advantages of fitting a master with a bigger piston. I can't say feel has improved massively over OEM. If you have a non ABS I’m sure your experience will differ. I will try out this ratio for a week or so to allow me to get used to it and subject it to some ‘real life’ scenarios. I then will try 18 ratio and see if there is an improvement in ‘feel’

    Impressed but not blown away.

11mm is used a lot for brakes on European vehicles direct from the factory as well as aftermarket fittings in the uk too!

TBH Slick this is what I expected U to report back and say.

At the end of the day U have no direct contact with the caliper pistons/pads as all input is relayed through the modulators and hence a certain amount of 'numbness' has got to be expected.

Certainly not a waste of money, but results will always be better on a non ABS Bike IMHO.

The matching RCS clutch lever on that page is not a genuine Brembo product AFAIK, if that's the one you are referring to.

It is the one I am referring to yes.

I would have thought that it was coming from a retailer, but hay ho.

Do you have a link for the correct 1?

This is the correct one as far as im aware.
    Brembo_110B01295.jpg

The one on the harris site is rcs "type" and if you notice it does NOT have any Brembo Racing logo's on the actual perch.

Also modeperformance.co.uk list part number "110A26300" in their PDf file, however according to a question asked on carpimoto for that part number, It is not a genuine product
