1:45! sod off! If thats true its an epic lap time for your first visit to Almeria! I managed a 1:48.6 which i have on camera too. As soon as i get some time I'm going to make up a little video of the event
to be fair the riders on the s1000's were not the fastest, so they weren't getting on the power very quickly out of the corner before the straight. Plus they probably had the TC wound right up so that may have interfered. As for engine mods, none. BUT its super light with BST's, full Ti Akra and other bits and bobs. Gearing happend to be spot on for the circuit too which was more luck than judgement
That's a good time round there. I was there a few years ago with Racedays Chrono event and there were some serious riders there. Kev Coughlan and Ian Lowry were testing a Moto 2. Billy McConnell and James Westmooreland were parked beside me testing the raceways R6, Richard Cooper on a S1000rr with lights and indicators still on and a few other BSB superstock and top Thundersport guys. If memory serves me correct the fastest lads ie, McConnell, Westie and cooper were round the 1.41,s. I thought I was going well banging in 1.48's until cooper blasted by me on the s1000rr on the back straight like I was parked that's with me on a 170bhp gixxer at the time. Without doubt the most unbelievable bit of riding was Randy Mamola smoking up the back tyre on a road blade with a pillion on the back and then wheeling the full length of the back straight while I watched as he sailed into the distance with my mouth open. Unbelievable rider and a seriously nice guy to chat to!!
In a strange way I enjoyed reading that whole post. Check that ol dude out he should come do bsb for samsung honda
