Talent, no worries, you have that. The other bits, MHP is your man for the exhaust. The remap, not sure who is up near you. Spares, these will come throughout the year, so don't worry too much about these. Somebody will always help you out if you need things on the day. Paddock stands, avoid the ones that are made of fancy looking alloy, instead, get some decent heavy duty ones. They get used a great deal and take a good old knocking over the year. Lock wiring the bike, dead easy. Get a set of these pliers for doing it: Bike-It Safety Lockwire Pliers 9 Inch - Demon Tweeks They are invaluable. make sure you get your dog tags as well, get a spare as you can't race without it and they are the sort of things that can easily go missing.

Good man Jimbo! I would also recommend using thinner lockwire for most jobs, as the thick stuff is a pain to bend back on itself and also for things like the dipstick which is plastic, it tends to put too much force on it.

As for Transits....always have a damn good look at rear floors and chassis....they rot like crazy....I know because I've gone through 3 in 4 years.
The current one had a recent full test and was boarded out, when I pulled the floor boards up there was gaping holes in the wheelarch to floor seams, and someone had filled it with silicone ...ended up with a week of welding to sort it out...
That is on a 2000 reg new shape
Apart from that great van :)

I love my vw t5 but for £5000 you're probably looking at a t4. I know loads of guys who love their T4s. Have a look on the www.vwt4forum.co.uk.

Ah young Tyke, bless ya. They will go over this in your ACU course, but it is worth just getting them ordered now and it is one less thing to worry about. As i said, it is worth getting a couple, easy to lose them and you can't race without them.

This is true, but anything can happen. They will check you have them on in scrutineering and if you haven't, then they won't sign your scrutineering card and you can't go out to play.
