Bargain tank bodging

    Text a bloke in Ireland who was breaking a B1H as I wanted a spare tank these tanks are hard to come by cheap he said I have one I think it's scrap . So £25 delivered I hit it with the filler today not concerned about dent as tank will only be half filled not too bad job now having a little dry in front room

    hope you removed rust b4 filling mate or itl start bubling up the topcoat in no time

    Hope you didn't try and sand that down in the front room or SWMBO would string you up by your nuts for the mess! :D

    The tank will be fine mate it would be more of an issue if the tank was split or holed or rusted out but dents na! Lil bit of paint on that and no one would know (well as long as your sanding and painting is up to par!) ;)

    Going by the pics mate he should be good as he's sanded the tank down at the damaged area before applying the filler.

    Edit.......Eh scratch that I seen the sandin marks from the first coat of filler!
    Wedgie please tell us you sanded/treated the rust before hitting it with filler?

    Removed then painted in rust proofer first cheers

    Sure did Tis only a race spare tank so not too bothered being painted focus st orange both tanks both sets of fairings another DIY job wish me luck lol

    Don't forget Kawasaki did / do bikes in pretty much that orange so should look well - the Tango ZX10 my mate has is shockingly bright

    Yeah my dad used to have a z1000 in orange looked well
