Did he leave seat cowell on or put the rear seat on to act as a cushion? I'd stay with Ventura mate, that way only need the new rack!
Sold my bag to a mate earlier this year when it looked like my biking days were over after surgery doh! So, got to do it all over again! Still, thankful that I'm back on a bike after all lol. I seem to remember he had the pillion seat on as I did on my Gixer. Gonna check that out with him. JD
10 of us done this last year route nap has got to be done, we had wet every day out of 8days at some point. one that just about made it home lol at the top
we went in the 2nd week of june, when it was sunny it was so hot, but that didnt last long we tended to have a halfday of each hot/wet and when i say wet it pissed down lol

my waterproofs dont leak just gloves and boots are a nitemare but worse still is that we have a diffrent b&b every nite so missing out on the fun of the twistys cause once there done we wont see them again.
I'm staying two nights in Dignes les Baines so I can do the run from there to Grasse and back a few times. Bring it on. It'll be a good test of the Sportsmarts lol. JD
