Thats shocking Ken but i may have some good news for you We have had a few customers in store that have told us that under the Governments aim to get everybody in the country on decent broadband they have reveievd grants to have a satellite uplink installed at theyre property because the internet is either so bad or they live to far out of town .. Gotta be worth a search online to see what you can find mate
I could tell you a long convoluted story about broadband in my village but I'd hate to hijack the thread for that long (don't want the mods after me).
CHRIST. Download as in from Itunes I gather Mine does it in about 30 mins. 1gig file but only off peak. full album in about 1-2 mins. again off peak
yeah dont rub it in lol 1 x 1gb film st least a day but normally over night and half way into the next day lol..
You're both bloody spoiled. Some of us have got to flicker book a Razzle to get a decent porn movie and you guys are bitching about having to make a cup of coffee while you're downloading the directors cut of Avatar! Get some perspective guys.
I've only been with telewest/virgin as it was recommended 10 years ago. I may pay a bit more £20 per month for the net but always worked well. and as I'm not out int he sticks I can get good net. Would rather be outside of Bristol mind you
Okay, the thread's gone now anyway, so I might as well. The problem we've got is the exchange is in a different village 4 miles away. Although there is a new (ish) exchange in my village now it's only been used for new builds and for Marsh Barton, a huge trading estate 2 miles nearer to the exchange we're being forced to use. No matter who we pick for an ISP, the infrastructure's just going to butt fuck us. The parish council did ask about the wifi tower but we're not rural enough for a grant and the topography makes it questionable whether everyone would receive decent coverage anyway. In lalaland it would be nice if BT said 'hey, let's wire all of Exminster into Exminster, all Kennford into and build a new, large state of the art exchange in Marsh Barton, one of the largest trading estates in Europe. Then everyone will be happy'. But that may eat into their £98 per second profit and they're a bunch of c**ts. It would be nice if some legislation meant that they could only charge for what they delivered. Just to see how quick the bastards scuttled up their poles then.
I'm with BT Broadband and i must admit for general surfing its not bad, for downloading films etc i can usualy download 4/5 films overnight, but that depends on available sources, bit torrent and iso-hunt work well for me
Bloody hell man keep it on topic I like my kitchen usit on the garage too. free and handy to store gear in
Well, I did say the thread was in danger of hijack. And who listened?................bloody no one, that's who!
