Ok Zippy, put me beer down again, went outside and popped the seat off. Yes, right in front of the ABS servo and behind the tank base, there is a hard black plastic cover, that covers a wiring harness, which is sheathed in black pvc, no holes in it like the one you are holding, unless they are the locating holes, that are on the bottom and I cannot see them, I could not easily move it or remove it, I am not 100% convinced it is what you are holding in the pic. EDIT looked at your pic again, the curved bit looks identical, so the holes would be on the side, not the bottom, so changing my mind now, could well be the kiddy
Guess you were trying to copy Guy Martin in Sunday's episode of "Speed", How far did you get and did you beat his 60 meter record? On a more serious note, his bike went to the bottom of Bala lake and they still got it running again. Like Martin Owen said about bent conrods, we had a few BMWs (CAR) in our garage last your from the floods with bent conrods, however they were diesels so higher compression. Hope she's ok for you.
Agree with this try and get bike up at the front get anything out the exhaust . Make sure coil packs are dry . Check ecu plugs for dampness blow out any connections that could of got water inside good luck . I'd even leave air filter off bang some cheap oil in her at first run to temp then bang some fresh in any tiny bits of water should come south with the old oil
Just so you don't feel so bad mate have a look at this .. the guy was very lucky not to be in the same predicament as yourself.

Good to hear Zippy, I think you owe the missus a beer or 2 for all that help, and if she really went the extra mile throw in a curry as well.
She's already had the flowers and take away, Ive got stashed the biggest batch of danish pastries, croissants and breakfast goodies. Its her birthday tomorrow too, so were off to Royal Horseguards Hotel in the evening too as Im attending an award ceremony at One Whitehall place. She's gonna be spoilt and she deserves it!
Happy Birthday Mrs Zipster.... Put your tools down for the day and enjoy being spoilt ;o) p.s. We were at Whitehall in the summer for the Thankful Villages event. Impressive - ENJOY ;o) Thankful Villages Run - Home
