Hi all looking for a nice hugger for my 2012 non ABS blade. Fancy the Ermax one but cant get a good view of it on a bike, only the pics on the manufacturers site. Anyone got one on their bike please post. Also any pics or links of other huggers. Cheers Dave
Hi Sinewave thanks for the pics, does the hugger fit over the original, cant see anything white under the rear shock
Small remark Oem poly hugger is not that heat resistant so I've learned with my capit tire warmers. Fits perfectly though
Had power bronze on my 09 and now have genuine on my 12. Genuine is so much better in fit and looks, defo worth the extra.
I've just fitted a King Carbon for mine. Looks damn good and fits like a glove. Bought it from Andy at Demon Tweeks
OEM is the way to go, fitted one to my SP I got new off eBay for 100 notes, however it was pearl white but not no more, re-sprayed the Rosso White the bike is painted in and nice HRC sticker, Result
. Hi SW, I've got a Renntec carrier similar to yours and last week I had occasion to remove it. I was shocked to find two of the attachment bolts broken. I've never exceeded the recommended 2.5k load. Judging from the size of the load you've got in your pic' I would say inspect them ASAP mate. Since they only replace the original M6 bolts that are there simply to hold the tool roll container, rear light assembly and a bit of trim on they're just not up to the job of holding the extra weight of a carrier loaded with luggage. I've since drilled and tapped mine out to M8. Just sayin. Nick.
Most of my luggage weight is sat on the pillion seat, the rack is just for stabilisation but I shall certainly be keeping a close eye!
. I've just 'totaled' my CF hugger after a 'not particularly heavy' landing when it came into contact with the servo motor cover. There's a reason Honda don't want it fitted to ABS bikes. The two front lugs are severely damaged but I may be able to repair them. I'm reluctant to 'bin' it and have started by adding a couple more 'windows' so as to provide more clearance. . A good DIY way round things Nick but as I suggested last year (not that Honda were listening) there is acres of room under the standard OEM Hugger so two scallops much as what you've butchered, sorry, sculpted out, would be no trouble at all to design in without having an actual hole so would still remain fully rain tight.
