So I couldn't help myself and ordered a new years present for my 2012. What do you think of the R-77 slip-on? I was looking at the racefit growler, but the more I read here, the more I leant towards a bigger brand.

I can't wait! That and some Q3 rubber for track days makes a pretty nice upgrade for the bike :)

To be honest rented both are good pipes! The build quality on the racefit is good but yoshi have the reputation and that means more to a lot of people.

You wouldn't have been disappointed with either

    +1

Mine is a full system and with custom map on PCV it's such an improvement. Not offensively loud (well, not to me!) and obviously so much lighter than stock.

I couldn't be happier with mine. Looks great in carbon and sounds great too. Not too loud, but loud enough ;)
I spent a lot of time deliberating which pipe and the Yoshi was the only one that ticked all the boxes for me.

I have just fitted mine and it's also a carbon. I completely agree with you. What surprised me was the look of it, photos don't do it justice. Couldn't be happier :)

I fitted mine the other week on my '13. Only complaint is getting the heat shield to sit right, I can't get it how I want.

My exhaust instructions state 12-13 model, but the heat shield looks the same as the 08-11 one and the new fairings mean that it isn't quite right. Is that what you are seeing?

That could be the case. Its only slightly out, just enough to annoy me. The bottom fairing slightly overlaps the shield, and the crease line doesn't line up correctly with the lower fairing as well.

Yes, exactly. It just doesn't seem to bother me that much though. YMMV.

You could leave it off and expose the pipe a little more? The pipe looks pretty sweet!

The only reason i got the Yoshi over an Akra was to hide the pipework!

Ah that's no good then! I wonder if it is worth emailing Yoshi about it? It's always possible a batch got out with the wrong heat shield. I might do that myself.
