good morning I am trying to fit some bits and pieces to my fireblade whilst the weather is rubbish. The list so far is R&G aero crash bungs, rear spindle, paddock stand and front spindle. Double bubble screen Yoshi R77 slip on O2 sensor eliminator and exhaust plug Power commander 3 plus ignition module and quickshifter HID projector headlights with dual halos and LED's in a new headlight case to keep original integrated LED rear light and indicators K&N air filter R&G tail tidy with indicator mounts removed show plate Plus some more bits im currently watching on fleabay if the missus doesn't find out Most of this is easy plug and play or bolt on stuff. I have a Datatool S4 red alarm that I would like to fit as I got it free from a mate im not too bothered about the insurance cert so don't really want to pay for it to be fitted plus I like to route things where I want them and the bike is in the garage in pieces so it would be a good time to do it. So to that end I need a manual to find out which wires I need to splice into. I have a dealers installation manual and all the wires are still marked as its a new boxed system I need to know the wires on the bike. Sorry for the waffle Pants
Welcome to the forum Mr Pants. To the best of my knowledge there is no manual for the ABS model (unless you import from abroad!)
There is no end of Peeps who come on here and other forums with all sorts of electrical and charging problems, all with one thing in common, feckin Alarms! There are virtually useless anyway as most Pro Bike Thefts just chuck it in the back of a Van so an alarm aint much use. Physical locks and anchors are the only things worth spending money on IMHO
Thanks to Sinewave for the link for the manual. I've had lots of Datatool alarms and never had a problem with them but I would like to think that its down to the quality fitting job rather than just lucky with the alarms. Yes I have fitted them all myself and soldered and heat shrinked and taped every joint. I have a disc lock as well and a ground anchor at home.
Sinewave's right. Get one of these mate. A real 'hassle-free' buy. Includes ABS model too. Didn't take very long to arrive on the doormat either.
I would steer clear of the alarm! Data tool are fine to start with but they all end up killing batteries My first question is why is your mate getting rid of it?
Not exactly what you're looking for (no ABS info for a start) but this, for an 08 bike, might help as far as a wiring diagram is concerned. http://cbr.deathace.net/files/08cbr1000rr_sm.pdf Nick.
Thanks to everyone for your help with this, I now have a proper manual on order and have a wiring diagram downloaded so can get on with the job.
