All in all a productive day as I managed to get the brake calipers on my wee 600 bandit work hack stripped and rebuilt and the tappets adjusted

    Nice bike mate.

Where do you go on trackdays?
Always wanted to get a track bike, but there is nothing up here track wise.

It's Knockhill most of the time Colin, Val-de-vienne in France is good but the track I like most has to be Cadwell park

There comes a time when even I have to wash a bike, lost count, but its probably been since September and around 6K miles and to be fair it was minging, luckily not much salt down this winter, feeling chuffed with myself now, extra Bourbon with my cuppa.

    From this

To this, scrubs up OK IMO

Looks a different bike clean, but I know you commute on it so I can understand your resilience in washing it, especially in the winter months

Well today I decided to order up a "Servo Buddy" from these guys,
    https://www.speedycom.co.uk/shop/product.php?productid=19403&cat=905&page=1

So in preparation I undertook the task of removing the exhaust servo, the flap in the exhaust I took out months ago but the servo takes up a handy little storage space under the seat.

I realise this has done by others before on the '07, but what stone-ache of a task !!! :(

First of all, out with the battery, which sent the Datatool alarm into "OMG" mode....beeping very very loudly every 2-3 seconds..!!
"Well that's not so bad", you might say. No probably not if it had only been for a couple of minutes..

But it took half a bloody hour to get that soddin servo out of it's little confines, using a hacksaw as one of the captive bolts decided to snap out of it's plastic mount and just turn and turn with no way of getting grips onto it.
Then the partial removal of the tail to gain access to the multi plug..beep...beep...beep...
Then the cable outers on the exhaust flap housing wouldn't come undone.....beep..beep...bloody beep

If it wasn't for the fact that the bike probably wouldn't ever start again without a new loom and the alarm is rather expensive, I would have cut the frigging cable and slung that little beeping box down the end of the garden and buried it's annoying arse.

For reference though, the servo is removed from under the tail after first removing the little box it lives in that has the pillion seat lock in it..

Unless like me, you have a little beeping box that drives your patience and nerves to breaking point and you just rive arse and rip the servo out from the top in desperation and a need to get the battery back in...

Tom.. I just made up a little "servo buddy" with a few resistors / capacitor from Maplin.. think total cost was about £3.. really easy to make using the plug off the old motor..

Share your pain in getting the old one out though.. pain in the $£@!
