I have now starting using these guys, very very helpful and really know there stuff with good prices too.
Sorted out insurance change over from old insurance to my new SP no problem and no trouble for them to sort it with the underwriters, highly recommended.

decided to go with bennetts but their price had jumped from 128 to 186 within a week!
so went through another round of price comparison web sites:rolleyes: and ended up with mce @ 132£

they include rac cover + 6 months european use and some legal assistance for recovery of something! can't understand how they do it. asked the operator what the catch was :)

hope it does not turn out to be 132£ mistake

Are you guys declaring all your modifications or just insuring the bike as standard?

Declared all my mods and it bumped me up about £150. Good thing to note now is that is they don't ask you don’t have to say as the rules changed this year ;)

They will always try not up cough up it's what they do .the assessor s are mostly contracted ( we have a salvage yard store bikes till they viewed) they don't write akrapovic exhaust scratched just exhaust damaged most don't know about bikes just filling in a tick chart. . If rider is able to get bike home them most turn up at copart or similar with the standard bits back on

Rule used to be that you had to tell them anything which could have impacted their quote, even if they didn't ask, or they could refuse a claim as you didn't tell them all material facts. Rule changed this year to as Europe said that old rule was illegal, so if they haven't asked you don't have to tell them, and they can't refuse a claim on something they never asked about.

All mods declared and just got the usual phone call from my existing insurers a month ahead of time for the new year's policy. The bastards have put my premium up

By £1.....they now expect me to pay £140 fully comp for the year :D

I've told a few about this and they think this is a good deal ,

    BMW S1000RR Sport , 2013 ,
1 years no claims ( cause I'd not ridden for years )
Fully comp , pillion cover also ,
    £388.01
    MCE.
Well happy with that I am .

best policy would be to declare performance mods.
I would not bother with things like non honda exhaust unless it is a performance system with pc, also ignore petty things such as crash bobbins, screen, hugger, etc
bennetts actually have a list of what mods you don't need to declare.

BTW the price comparison websites all did ask for mod declaration.

mt mce comes with pillion, ncd protection, rac cover (roadside), kit cover, courtesy bike (125cc!) & personal injury , £ 134 all in. I guess old age has its advantages too:)

the first 5 are around £200 to £250. but seems eBike does not like experienced bikers who don't crash, have a clean record or is it that repsol's are just to quikc

Just got my cover yesterday with MCE, they were by far the cheapest. £300 tft im afraid.....

I did the usual comparison sites but on the option where it asks "where is the bike kept", i had to put on private property. I started by putting down that my bike would be kept in a locked garage as imo it seemed to me the nearest to where it will be kept. We have a large extension to the rear of our house meaning that we have a larger than normal living room and dining room. My bike will be kept in the dining room where i have fitted two wall mounted anchors, the dining room is like the rest of the house alarmed... So with the bike being down as being kept in a locked garage the quotes were around the £300 fully comp region giving me numerous insurers to choose from.

Mce still being the cheapest i phoned them and explained that my bike would be kept in the house, where it would be chained to two wall anchors and the house was fully alarmed, they told me that under these circumstances fully comp would cost me £1800. They explained that a locked garage was the most secure option and that if i didn't have a garage then a better option than putting it in the house would be to, "buy a cheap shed from BQ and put it in that"... Putting a cheap shed into my back garden and putting my bike into that would reduce my insurance to £800 fully comp.........
