I am after someone with access to a Glasses guide or the comparative Red/Black/Blue book.

    I want a trade/retail price for a certain bike.

Honda CB1000R 2010 (10 PLATE) with 2k on the clock, no extras.

I have looked on all the usual places and have a good idea myself but want to know what a real dealer would pay should a seller roll up with one now.

No problem, i am off to see it on Saturday, i think its non ABS so really i will not be paying more than about £4,800..... Its up for £5,800 !!!! Private sale and its not moved for about a year .... bit nervous really as i don't like bikes that keep oil in them for a couple of years without changing because the mileage is low, i will take a look and go from there.

Take your time in consideration Hudson!

We already have one forum member who bought a CB1000 and fecked it off within a year and bought another Blade.

    Might be worth a PM.

Think it was Jamie Repsol/HRC or whatever he calls him self nowadays! :p

I did like my 954 and would have considered a newer blade but given i will be using the bike only for the daily commute (on the good days) and i was finding my 954 a tad difficult in the heavy filtering traffic, i think a more upright (but still a litre bike) would be best.

Just as an aside, if this bike has not been moved for a year..... just what ' issues ' could i have here, will the fuel have '' gone off '' or will the oil already have gone bad etc, i am saying a year it may have been serviced over 2 years ago given the miles (2k)...... the tyres may well be squared off etc... is it worth it ?

Also the possibility of the brakes binding (sticky calliper) may need to be freed off

Excellent Andy, thanks for that........ went to see it today !!!! As the private seller said, it was mint, all the way until i spotted it had been dropped and had a scuff on the stator cover, marks on the crash bung and then a small scrape on the top of the engine block ! WTF.

What is it with these people, i specifically said '' is is totally unmarked and mint '', sounds a simple enough question to me. So the search continues.

Your welcome, seems the sellers idea of the word mint seems very questionable.

    Good luck with your search

Just do not get why people do this, it just wastes everyones time, mint to me, means, well, sorta mint, as in never dropped and not far off the look of a new bike.

There would have been a few choice words had in that case, not suggesting you did not anyway

It was not too far for me to travel (which is exactly why i don't travel far nowadays to view bikes), i did feel sorry for her, she was selling it because her husband had recently died so i could forgive her for not noticing but a biker relative was showing it and he should of made sure he knew what he was selling etc, i thought he may have known..... but hey, its just part of the rich texture of bike buying !

Mint means blemish free. Some people don't know the meaning of it.I suppose they were only looking at it from above:rolleyes:Well spotted, you could have kicked yourself if you had got it home and seen it.

Get him to call you mate on your mobile.
Does look good. I'm sure Jamie just got rid of 1 the very same as that for his Repsol
