can someone take a pic of the connection of the linkpipe on the headers..... it seems the headers don't go in as far as I like and the gasket isn't great..... if someone could post a pic or 2 so I can see if it's just me being a pain in the ar$€, already busted 2 gaskets trying to get it on
The link pipe should push straight on to the OE headers,(no s shaped pipe) mine was fitted by the honda dealership before I bought it, there was no gasket the link pipe (female) fitted tighly overlapping the headers (male) by 30-40mm or so. If you put some flexible exhaust sealant ( Holts Firegum is good) in the union it helps. Sorry dont have a picture but it should be very simple. Check that header bracket is not bent and losen the bolt to allow a bit of movement while fitting. The stiff springs will hold it in place. hope that helps Post a picture of the exhaust on the bike, that will help me to advise.
will wait for my new gasket to arrive tomorrow and will take some pics when mouting.. you said you used a spring, where did you connet the spring to on the headers?
Ok I binned the original gasket, doesn't fit With the original gasket on, so I'm using gungum exhaust paste and hopefully it'll hold. You said you used a spring? I've got one one but haven't connected it, thinking of putting it to the plate just in front.... What do you think?
here you go go this is how i did it, i think you will need to remove that clamp as well.hope all gos well now BRI
cheers BRI and Restone.... did you use the oem gasket? the headers go in as far as where the clip is for the spring, I used some gun gum paste, that's the crappy paste on there now, but will clean it a bit tomorrow. Hopefully all ok now and I can ride without a problem
I have an arrow GP2. I took the foil gasket out of std can and fitted it into link pipe. Pushed onto header then all kept in place with spring. I have not used any exhaust paste.
Skippy you might want to clean that gum off before using the bike because if your going to change end cans for different tracks that will make it a bitch to get them off
only using different cans at the end of the link pipe, never intend to take the link pipe off....... gum is nice and hard now and no blow holes anymore
