oil, oil and air filter

    Slick.. just changed the standard filters and found the sand.. changed the standard ones a couple of weeks ago for BMC race.. will be checking the filters every 3000 miles now though!

    Oh got you, the OEM filter let this through!!! Was it damaged?

    Yes the race filters need to be checked/cleaned more often than OEM/Road version.

    No damage.. all the sand was collected below (and inside) the standard filters in the air intake. In fact, seems like i must be daft to change to BMC RACE filters after seeing how well the standard filters did their job! guess I'll be cleaning out a lot more often now.. once bitten eh!

    I have re-used the K&N loads - even after the above pic it was cleaned and re-oiled and looked like it was brand new again.

    Still looking for the other pic I want to upload
