As a shorter man upgrading to my first blade imminently what I wanted to know is are there any fellow short lads around here and how do you find it day to day? Been out for a run on a blade but only for an hour or so.

For reference purposes I'm 5'7 with a 29" inside leg.

I have read that loads of times, I know I can't get both feet flat on the Blade but I can deal with that I'm sure.

Yeah I agree with Dave, it's the only time I wish I was shorter
trying to squeeze into a blade on track when your over 6' 1" is not so easy, hence I wont be going to a smaller cc track bike, like so many seem to do ;)

Same dimensions as you mate, but I manage. Not difficult to lower a blade either.

Have you lowered any of your previous bikes? Im on 600RR09 just now and manage just fine and the seat height is roughly the same as the blade. Just the width worried me a little.

Its the SP I have on order so fully adjustable ohlins should play into my hands.

M&p do a lowering kit for the blade, it's about £60

But you'll also need to mod the side stand, I have seen a link for one and will try and find it

The newer blades are among the smallest of the litre sports bikes. I'm 5'8 and 65kg and its perfect for me. The zx10 and rsv also seem a good fit but i wont disuade you from a blade you wont look back!!

I would advise similar to ash. Just buy boots with a really thick bottom to help you out a little. Also eating a few pies will magically lower the seat closer to the ground

About the same size as you and it isn't a problem. About the only time lanky gits have an advantage is when waddling the bike backwards.

I am 5'5" with 30" inside leg. No real problems, expect when 'waddling' the bike backwards.
A definate 'shortarse' in comparison with some of you.

My Boots cost £320 so you will have to be a pretty determined short arse to justify spending that amount of money,(or have a wealthy husband) Bloody good boots tho...

I'm not the tallest, with a 30in inside leg and I manage no problem and it's my first 1ltr bike.

I'm 5'8' with 29" inside leg. I was a bit tip-toey on my 929 so fitted a lust racing 30mm lowering kit but also dropped the forks by 5mm. Been fine for 2 years now. I didn't shorten the sidestand and it hasn't been a problem for me although it does sit a little too vertical so I might sort that soon.

Im 5 foot 8 and have a 27 inch inside leg and I don't have any problems. I also have a large frontal area which may help me a bit.
