Personally I don't see the point in buying a 200hp bike then need electronics to throttle it down to 180hp
Having seen so many top reviews for the beemer i would definitely love to try one out but I guess if the quality issues are as widespread as to be believed then I think I would opt for the build quality of the Honda. I don't think it would have the thrill factor tho..... That old saying one makes a fantastic one night stand the other you could marry and live with. Fingers crossed Honda will respond in 2015
Navvy10, we hoped Honda would respond with the 2014 model but all they managed was an SP version. No doubt a great bike but hardly on a par with the HP4. Quality issues aside.
Totally agree fella! Needs a new lump and possibly 20hp extra to mix it with the top of the class. Maybe a V4 lump?? That would make it vs the RSV4 very interesting! I'm not for electronics personally but see the attraction to many
if Honda do ever put out a new v4 sports bike i think one and all will be bumping off granny and leaving the wife to fund one , oh we could have a whole site defoted to the matt black carbon or repsol v4 paint . sorry couldnt help that last bit. my kawasaki is red what do i know.
I think I would have to try both before buying and see which one fit's me best for the money I want to pay, I do like the blade and know a few who have the HP4. What I don't understand is why people cannot just enjoy taking about all bikes without it doing down hill A valid question asked By the OP. if it was time for me to get a bike I would be trying the R1, blade, BM etc.. before making a informed choice
reading the first page I cannot see anyone becoming keyboard warriors until this post barney So please all don't start again
Oh Mr H, you have let the cat out of the bag , but the blade is still in my family, I will be able to give unbiased opinions on both.
Cheers for opinions and views. Enjoyed reading what people think . Didn't mean to open a can of worms about the past. Does seem to be a few issues with quality and reliability of the bm bit I never had any with either of the 3 s1000rrs I've owned.. Must admit if I'm in a position to get an hp4 i think it will be next on my list if the sp dissapoints. Can't see it myself tho as the blades as we all how and love are spot on. Penigale was horrid to ride unless you can send it on abit and I found the rsv4 aprc ok but the gear box sbd transmissions was notchy and rough.. Honda or bm for me . Sp for now but maybe hp4 in the future. I'd love to ride them All back to back.. Long live the blade
Fair play Ex - it will be nice to read a review of both back to back as the Blade is staying in the family so to speak - good on ya fella! I for one am looking forward to pics and an honest (non magazine) review
Personally I think SP all the way! My reasons? No setting to fanny about with! You just get on and ride the SP, I would fiddle and better fiddle with the HP4 setting not knowing if it is the best for me! It would drive me nuts! Also after seeing the HP4 on Fifth Gear and reading the SBOTY awards in Fastbikes I'm not really impressed with it's performance either and there is always the possibility of leccy reliably issues! I just like the simplicity and pureness of the Blade and the SP is the Ultimate one for now
wow now that looks the bollox!! take back what I said about the HP4 looking better!! Why didnt they add a high mount pipe also... wasted opertunity there imo
Funny how fast the R1 fell from grace - but I the prices of used Big Bang ones compared to price of new HP4 / SP is incredible - not for everyone mind but lovely grunt from any revs and wicked tune to go with it although I know its no faster than the others it just feels it.
