Found this today and it is 1 of the best pics that I have taken. Just a shear fluke to hit it on the right day.

It's as festive as it's going to get, okay!

Was sorting through some old photos tonight and found this one which I've tweaked to just show the red and gold, was taken on Remembrance Sunday a few years ago when I was in the colour party

In between downpours I managed to get a couple decent walks in over the break.

By the time we saw the kingfisher the sun had already set so I had no chance of a decent shot, but I couldn't let it go by without bothering, they're rare enough on the lower Exe.

Great job on getting the Kingfisher. Still remains elusive for me. Very hard to capture!

My friend saw it before I did and it was a fair way off. Hand holding was a nightmare at the light levels we had. It was after the one of the sun through the oak tree, so I'm sure you can imagine. I hate using anything above 400 ISO as my bridge camera doesn't handle it very well, so I was trying to brace it tight against the railings of the bridge and at full zoom, it was bouncing all over the place. I shot about a dozen and got two sharp ones.

But, I know where he is now and I shall go back with the SLR, or a lot earlier in the day.

Just a few from today...lighting not very good, and an excuse to get out for 5 hours or so with Harry for him to use his new camera...

Well for Christmas the wife bought me a Nikon D3100 DSLR which came with an 18-55mm lens.
been taking some pictures, but still trying to find my way round the camera.
So most pics are of our cats, and the odd family members.
The quality in the pics is amazing though, and have been offered some assistance by a fellow biker and musician photographer through Twitter.
And following one of my idols (Randy Blythe of Lamb of God) on Instagram has inspired me even more to get into it.

Main thing is don't be frightened of taking pictures. Sometimes taking a pic really does feel embarrassing, but take it anyway you'll be glad you did

Kevin's right. We used to joke that the cheapest bit of kit you have is the film, so you might as well use it up. Now 4gb of SD card will set you back the cost of a roll of transparency film and hold two or three thousand images.

Armstrong and Aldrin took 339 pictures on the surface of the moon. Most 20 year old girls take that many in the pub toilet.
