I've always been a classic Ray Ban fan. Got some curled earpiece aviators, original Wayfarers and some gold rimmed Outdoorsmans that I use for intimidation purposes. When I bought the MX5 though, I wanted some decent wrap arounds for driving with the roof but didn't like anything in the Ray Ban range. A friend, who is a dispensing optician recommended a lens by an American firm, who for the life of me, I can't remember the name of. These lenses were polarised and photochromic. When they lightened, it was to yellow so it increased contrast in low light. As they darkened, they darkened through brown to dark green and were the weapon of choice for military and police all over the states. I contacted them and they were brilliant. Immediately gave me details of two stockists within 20 miles of me. I emailed the nearest one and the optician said 'no problem', he could sort the lenses for about £450 then I'd only need to source some frames. £450... I back pedalled away from the deal then and settled for some Maui Jims. Great polarised lenses and slightly mirrored across the top and the bottom to filter off more glare.
I have these that I bought only 6 months ago on prescription which more the doubled the cost. Oakley Style Switch | Official Oakley Store | UK bought from RX sport and may look into if they can turn them back into regular sunnys but may just be as cheap to just buy a new pair of something else. And cheers Martin. So do I hope all goes well
What u get when u pay. All the NHS people done. You get a 2 hour slot after so u can pick a day to have it done. Just wanted to get this sorted ASAP

I just saw this thread. Everything will be fine. People who had the same surgery were amazed how good they could see after it was done. They even didn't need glasses any more. Wish you all the best and a good year 2014!
