evening everyone was wondering what you all use and what you think? not the most exciting thread but had something rip a hole in my sump last night and my bike is covered in oil and crap as im going to need a lot of it, will need something thats pretty good and good value, also what would i use to clean the rear tyre as its covered? thanks in advance
Gunk, been around for years and still works well. Just brush on and leave for 10 mins then wash off with soapy water.
about £7.00 a litre but is water soluble and works fantastic. Spray on, agitate, hose pipe off, job done.
Just a quick note about road traffic film remover. It is awesome I use it on gold brembos on ducats etc brings them up like new. But it can effect some paint finishes. It sends the silver paint on yamaha engine case a milky colour. I'm sure a quality vehicle like a Honda will be fine but test it somewhere first
I have used many from paraffin to jizer lol and depends what your using it on. Chain then Paraffin is excellent. bodywork then I use a specific plastic cleaner. Panel degreaser is also very good
As Remal said, If you are taking bits off to degrease I use paraffin and industrial degreaser (machine mart used at 5 parts paraffin one part degreaser). If it's bodywork or stuff on the bike I use A N other spray on cleaner.
I still have some Autoglym degreaser. Had it for about 5 years now, same can. Works very well, although probably more expensive than others suggested. Mine came as part of a pack including bike cleaner, bike shine, metal polish.
if it's just wheels/body work then cheap furniture polish, works wonders.(dont do the tank though,it can be slippy so end crushing your nuts)
TFR (Traffic Film Remover) is very good but is too potent for Bike use unless diluted first. A lot of Peeps end up with shat Alloys after they've visited some downmarket Car-wash run by immigrants. Because TFR is so cheap they Wank it all over ya Car without dilution or metering through a pressure washer and cause a lot of Alloys to turn a Milky shade of Grey months later. Paraffin sorts out most things on a lint free rag.
Yes I agree happened to me 2 years ago brand new sprinter van 2 weeks old decided to burn my centre caps ,after I told him it was neat TFT he said could not have been,I explained the van was washed for the first time as it was new,he decided to pay up after a little persuation against a wall,to the tune of £140
