Came up with a quick & easy solution for fixing my magnetic tank bag to the plastic tank cover on my 2013 Fireblade. See thread Plastic Tank / Magnetic Tank Bag Fix

simply took her out for a dry ride (apart from flood water puddles....still) and dropped me RX7 GP into Bike stop to grumble that its looking shabby a bit early on the material section.
sending the neck piece to Arai for me.

Rode it for the first time since fitting the Brembos over Christmas.
WOW are they good :D the bike just wants to stop on a postage stamp with the lightest of touches.
And being out and about listening to the exhaust music felt great :D

Decided it was time to get the bike ready for Spring........... Whenever that might be !!!

So took the rear suspension apart, gave at a ready good soak in the kitchen sink in some gunk (Don't worry, I'm single). And re assembled it and now she's nice and shiny again, with a coating of ACF50.

I keep thinking about pulling the engine out................................so I did it!

It's now sitting on the bike ramp ( engine minus bike ) awaiting " Open Heart Surgery" for that bad vibration that I,m hoping is going to be the balance shaft cush drive..............wish me luck!

And the K & N's were shockingly dirty having only covered about 4-5000 miles.

    5,500 miles on the clock.

Bit of a fair weather rider though......LOL.

The way I look at riding in the rain if you don't need too, is why go out for a ride you won't enjoy, might drop the bike and spend a day cleaning it for an hours riding in the rain that you haven't enjoyed.

Sounds like you have quite a job on your hands, hope you get it finished for the dry days.......... so you probably have quite a while yet.

Just a few pics and a question to those that might know. Once the lump was out I noticed a few numbers on the casings that don't look Honda,ish?.............the last time I saw anything like these was on a "Blue printed" engine but that was years ago. Might not be anything, could be standard from the factory god only knows but it would be good to know if anyone knows?

PS..............And yes I,ve checked the engine number and it's the OE lump!

That's on most Honda engines mate.
It comes from the manufacturing process, so that top half is married to the bottom half, before they go ahead and hard 'final' stamp the engine.

You can fix that by not cleaning it, considering that the worst day riding is still better than the best day on the train, and enjoying the fact that the rain is generally vertical and not horizontal (Last friday excepting :) )

Oh... And not dropping it of course :)
