Me and Jimbo are getting serious now we just booked this which is 2 weeks before we race there,I think Jimbo has been before for me it's a first (no bloody wonder) I could nearly fly to New York in the time it will take me to get there.

I have heard its a very fast track not looked on YouTube much to see what it's like but will do now we have booked it .

If anyone else fancies it get yourself booked on I am staying the night before then me and Jimbo are staying the night after the trackday so it could get messy.:D

Old snett I found better than the new. long straight can catch you out but if too hard on the anchors just use the slip road I took the r6 last time 1000s come screaming past but lovely flying back past on the anchors or my arse ha ha . I race 22nd so probs won't make it . First corner is quick but you soon run out of track keep it nice and tight

snetterton is my local. Ive never done a track day so i got some stupid questions.

Do you need any type of racing licence or experience?
have you got to have one piece leathers?
and do the aftermarket cans pass the DB test ok?

Is it case of booking it, turning up, having a blast then go home?

sorry for my stupid ass questions but its all new to me, and would like to do a track day some point in my life!

Your road license will get you on track. You'll need both parts of your license.

One or two piece leathers. I find the one piece more comfortable for track days.

Bring a baffle with you just in case. Im sure itll pass though.

Basically yeah, just turn up and have fun. You wont regret it and the questions weren't stupid :)

No has to be leather but there was a guy on a gold wing sort of bike going round oulton yesterday:eek: I think he had textiles on. That was with hottrax though.

Did my first track day ever last year at Snetterton, and to be honest shat my pants for the first few sessions, especially after nearly coming off at Agostini
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSLX3Q8DRyw

after that and recomposing had one of best days ever! The only problem you get a vampire type thirst to do another!

Would love to live closer to a track, if the funds permitted I would be there every other weekend

I was wearing BT16s that day, couldn't fault them really. The only wear was my chicken strips were replace by some nice rubber clag nuts!

This is why me and Jimbo want to go wedgie as I have heard its a 180mph straight past the pits and you can easily out brake yourself so want to find my braking points at those speeds. At Oulton park now it's automatic for me for gearing/and braking points at least when we go to race at Snetterton we have a good idea of the track I might even do the test day before we race .

Yeah defo mate it soon comes up on you at those speeds and its a weird left (after back straight) loads of room in not a lot out ! . Run off is well used I've been twice to snett 300 and still catches me out but is a good run off :D . i have done most tracks but not my first race brands so I'm there 6th march test day before then practice and its the little track so hopefully get me and bike dialled in ;)

Well already set up in our garage thanks to Dave V for sorting that out we are sharing with "Mike Spike Edwards " tommorow so will be getting some tips hopefully.

Senna straight looks very very fast so looking forward to stretching the blades legs on that the place is massive and what a nice drive once you get of the motorway and get on the A14 then A11 took me 4.5 hours towing so a long way staying in a lovely place called "The Angel Larling"which is only a few minutes from the track weather looks good just hope my blade is running ok after my problems on Saturday with it cutting out.

Jimbo and the boys arriving in the morning so tonight I am having a few beers and just waiting for my "Home made steak and kidney pie to come":D
