    So after my last bike got nicked I have to be really paranoid now. My Ducati was taken from the gated underground car park. It had a lock but I think they just lifted it into the back of a van.

    I'm wondering what you guys do to secure your bike? So for my new blade I'm putting in a Hardie Secure Ground Anchor, and I have an Oxford Monster XL Chain. I'm going to get a cover for it for the times I'm not using it. Someone else suggested a disc lock also.;

    The only other thing I'd like to think about is a GPS tracker - does anyone have these and are they any good?

    GPS tracker is good, Hardie Ground Anchors are very good, disc lock a waste of time in my opinion. I would not want my bike back after some scum had nicked it though.

    I use a disc lock with an alarm built in, they are very loud and sensitive, can be heard if its parked in your garage or at least raise attention if in public

    Exactly as Sinewave says..... Almax is the only chain i would have, no excuses and no alternatives. Get it onto a Hardie and your fine. Tracker a certain yes, disc lock is a waste of cash.

    Good luck.

    You can have the best chain in the world, but........

    Look any of this is just prevention. Disc lock with an Alarm is a good idea...

    The only things thieving scum hate is noise and time.

    Noise in itself is not an issue, if it's a straight lift and go, but if they have noise and the clock starts ticking, every second is against them. So if you can employ both, then you have half a chance.

    Next is castration, so the b**tards cannot breed further thieving pieces of human waste that become a drag on normal law abiding, hard working decent human beings.

    Next is to rid society of the liberal do gooders. that believe love, support and free hand outs will turn these vermin into normal people.

    Apart from that it's an average Monday morning and all is good with the world.

    Agreed with KentBlade make it as difficult as possible for them my blade has an alarm HISS immobilizer a Road Angel Tracker and is secured with heavy duty chains and if you have nothing to chain the bike too then run the chain through the swing arm and wheel because it might be easier to remove a rear wheel but it's a hell of a lot more difficult to remove the swing arm too.

    The Road Angel Tracker is around 250 - 300 for the installation then a 99 quid subscription for the year and believe me it is worth every penny. They are on the ball too if it senses any movement you get a text, e-mail and phone call within 30 seconds which yes can be irritating when you're just wheeling the bike out of the garage but I would rather have that and know that my baby is protected then they be half arsed about it and start ignoring warnings.

    Also with a tracker it forces the police to take action rather than their usual "if we don't find it in 24 hours there's nothing further we can do." It's a great bit of kit and gives you a little piece of mind that if the worst happens you'll know about it straight away.

    Mine lives in my garage which is locked at all times. It's also anchored to the floor with a Hardie and an Almax series III chain. The chain is passed through the hole in the side of the swingarm. At night the car's also in the garage next to the bike so you'd have to move that too if you wanted to get the bike out.

    The geography of my back garden and buildings would prevent a would be thief from taking the bike out of the back of the garage and the front is on a well trafficked road that's full of nosey neighbours who notice when things aren't as they should be.

    If they can still get it after all that then there's nothing much more I can, or am willing, to do.
