Long story few theory's. Come out of pits first corner ... Down. Had done 4 laps come in checked rear res for leaks was ok so went back out. Got to first corner went down Cold tyre / a bump / fork settings. Seems I had 2 inches of travel still to use. To hard ? Tyre cold in those 30 seconds ? Not sure Anyway. The bike bounced on me etc. The rear shock pulled through the linkages so the bike was collapsed at the rear. Rear wheel bent and flat tyre. Panel damage, clip on etc. How strong are blade frames ? Do I need it jigged or risk it for a whole packet of biscuits Oh and what would doctors say to do after a dislocated shoulder that went straight back in? Excercise or will there be tendon damage that needs some sort of physio Only got a coulpe of pics nothing v good forgot about pics really
Having dislocated my shoulder myself on many occasions mate I can tell you that there is likely to be rotator cuff damage there which, will need physio treatment. You will need to get it checked over and be sure to rest as much as you can buddy a good mate of mine had an off did the same thing but didn't rest up kept pushing himself doing more trackdays and then racing now he is waiting for a replacement shoulder operation on the 10th april. Happy to give you some gym exercises needed to strengthen your rotator cuff again I had around 6 sessions of physio and then went back to the gym and built it up slowly again and mine is fine again now.
+1 on what nick says mate as I also have dislocated shoulder and suffered rotator cuff damage. Sorry it happened and probably very hard to diagnose what happened unless you have video footage? Hope you recover soon
The upside should be that the quicker it goes back in, the less damage there's likely to be. So the physios used to tell me in my rugby days. You will still need an assessment though mate. Rotator cuff damage has a habit of repeatedly coming back and biting you in the arse even if you get it fixed properly. Don't know much about frame geometry so can't advise there. I do know a bit about injury though. Unfortunately...
That's great advice thanks il get to the docs. It still herts so I don't Spose that's a good sign. Appreciated for ur posts. Looks like my 120k bench press is no more then
You'll get back to it buddy I dropped down to benching just 60kg when my shoulder went but with time I got back up there with it all the way to my PB of 150KG bench. Get some physio and keep up your protein intake during any off time you won't lose as much strength that way and then when you hit the gym again do a couple of weeks of 5x5 training to get your strength back and you'll be there in no time.
After 3 disslocations, which I put back myself, I would stand by the above advise. In addition once physio has done its bit swimming......AND I MEAN PROPER SWIMMING ....with you head in the water, and a variety of strokes ( get some lessons if need be) will strengthen and maintain the rotator cuff. Trust me its the dogs.....has also helped me with serious spinal reconstruction post op recovery (different accident).
