This is obviously a personal thing and everyone will have their own opinion.......but i do find it incredible that some people are happy to accept something i consider to be a major defect.
Each to his (or her) own i suppose.

    UPDATE.
I was contacted by the Honda garage today.
Honda have accepted this is a problem with my bike and have given the go ahead to have it done under warrantee.
The rings etc have been ordered and the engine work should be complete by mid to end of next week.
When the engine is done, they will run a complete diagnostic on the ABS.
They told me if I'm still not happy about the ABS they will look at changing the bike for a non ABS version.
I am very tempted to switch to the non ABS.
I will decide when my bike is complete and what is involved in the change.
I have to say though, I am very impressed with Honda's after sales!

^^ I must have missed something in this thread.. So the ABS is playing up? I know quite a bit about this from experience of Honda replacing my bike due to the ABS in march 2010...

The reason the battery plays up is due to the ABS... but i'm sure we've covered this?

    I didn't realise that Zee.
What issues did you have with the ABS?
Did you replace with the non ABS?

I haven't had the battery issue, but i have had the front brake lever go straight to the bars on two occasions with no brakes!
Let go and grab again and they are back.
This is heavily covered on the .net site.
I basically have no confidence in the brakes at the moment on this bike. They (Honda) assure me they will do a full check and will only get the bike back if it is OK.
I also have the option of changing to non ABS.
My leaning at the moment is to change.

At the very least you could extend the full oil change by a few thousand or double maybe ..

Steve, i'd change it mate - and for the inconvenience... see if they'll give you a new shape?

You HAVE to know the brakes are going to work - that would sh!t me right up. I got a 2010 as a replacement for a 2009.

I will certainly try to get the new shape, but i cant see them going for it without more cash than i want to change hands.
I dont really want pay anything.
He has already mentioned a 61 plate Repsol! Sounds nice.

^^ Just kick up a fuss - imagine if you were heading into a corner at speed and the brakes failed.... they WILL buckle believe me.

    Spoke with Pidcocks today.
Seems I was barking up the wrong tree.
I said i wanted to change to a non ABS.
He wanted to give me the trade in price on mine and charge me £10k for the repsol!
I said Honda should do something because of the inconvenience etc.
They said I could write to Honda if I wanted.
Looks like I am keeping mine then.
They assured me the ABS will be fully tested as soon as the engine is back in the bike next week.

Man, I would have smacked him in the face! What a knob.
I have the contact details for the head of UK customer services if you want to pursue it - PM me if you need.

The problem you have is that the purchasing experience has been tarnished and your faith in Honda has been put in doubt. You are what keeps Honda in business - a customer and follower who put their faith in the most reputable motorcycle factory ever to have graced this planet.

I was exactly in that situation - my faith was restored when Honda did the right thing and gave me a new bike, and since then I have purchased 2 more Hondas. Thats how business works and its very simple.

..... but if you still love your bike then you've got nothing to worry about ;)

I have two irons in the fire now.
    1. I have contacted Honda UK with a little help from a friend (thanks Zee) with a view to getting some satisfaction.
    2. I contacted the bike shop i purchased the bike from also. They have said they would be happy to swap the bike for a non ABS one. They dont have a comparrible bike in at the moment but they are looking out from now on. The only thing they have at the moment is a 2010 in black with 7400 miles on the clock. It is very nice though and has much carbon......
