Does anyone run a so called 'Accident Vid Cam' on their road bike? Fancy something far cheaper than my Drifty Ghosty unit for the Blade. There seems plenty about on Fleabay but not much that can be permanently connected to power but remains waterproof. Just want sumat that'll record on a constant loop and powers up and records when the Bikes started and powers down when switched off?
When you find one, let me know details as also want one of these - you almost need 2 to get front / rear footage Can't be too hard to put one together mind.
The Bullet HD2 which you can buy a lead/cap for permanent power but your then looking at near now 200 notes. Web link for you to look at all options :- Helmet Cameras | GoPro Cameras | Dogcam Helmet Camera Systems
The Dogcam seems the only one that fits the bill. Kickboxer, all that stuff in your link is for the inside of vehicles, I already run a Blackvue in the car.
The standard Drift Ghost will do this in CAR DVR mode, if you power it from the bike. If you buy a new one, it does not have it, out of the box but there is a free firmware update from their site that loads it onto the camera.
Might be worth looking at a used one then Silverback as I didn't want to spend too much, however the Dogcam Bullet 2 with powercables still comes in at £200
My mates been running the car version on his Lotus for the past 12 months and found it is easy to use and fit. works well and has been really happy with it So if the bike version is as good then it comes recommended
I've looked at the Road Hawk Eye Remal but again there is no provision for an IP rated power connection. 90 mins battery life is no use to me when out Touring hence why I want whatever I buy to be permanently powered from a dash area USB supply and have auto record on ignition on.
I have the Dogcam Bullet HD2 I've used a few times for track days and rides out, excellent video quality and lots of mount options so you can fit it anywhere, any angle. Plus you can have time and date on the video too for evidence stuff. Only down side is all setting are done through PC except for switching from 720 to 1080 which is done with little switch on back, good point is only 1 button to press for stop start. Battery lasts about 2 1/2 hours and it does excepts the 64 gig micro SD cards.
The technology is almost there - with an aftermarket screen to use a 'mule' to find a way to mount / film from front of bike this looks good - loop record means its constant, just need to check on the auto start / stop from a switched power supply, but not IP rated but if mounted right under screen may be OK MyMemory HD 720P Car DVR Driving Recorder with 140 degree Wide Angle Lens 16.99 - Free Delivery Or this looks good for bike trackday filming for £15 Bell & Howell Take1 HD Digital Video Camcorder with Flip out LCD Screen Flip USB and 1.8-Inch LCD - Black 14.99 - Free Delivery
