I am thinking of trading my blade in for another bike on ebay, (Dorsoduro 1200) hes a dealer and offers finance. Instead of advertising the final price he advertises it what it costs per month.

he doesn't have a showroom and it looks like he works from home. He explains the bikes are from black horse finance.
He also said he has a close working relationship with "close motor finance" company who he offers hes bike finance with.

He e mails the finance docs over, i sign them, give him £100 delivery fee, he delivers the bike, looks at my blade and takes that trade in and log books are signed.

    Does this sound dodgy?

(little info why im thinking of trading the blade in for the dorsoduro - I used to own one before the blade, loved the riding position, but it got water damage in a flood, then i rushed out and got this blade. I do love the blade and it ticks all the boxes, but i suffer from lower back pain and after a long ride it hurts. I never got that on the aprilia, however im not fussed if i dont get this dorosduro as i say the blade is excellent)

here is a link to hes ebay showroom

I'd always be wary of any fecker that doesn't advertise or is reluctant to give a Cash price?

How many years finance is it and what's the total figure payable?

Why get rid of the blade so soon? Ride it in anger when weather warms up and see if you still feel the same about swapping for a dorsudoropoop..

opps, didn't read your reply.. A bad back eh.

The balloon option was with lower payments and only 36 months, that was another fiance option. The one im going for is 60 months no ballon payment at the end

Thanks flynn, nothing is set in stone yet, just organizing things at the moment.

I rarely go on long journeys, im planning a long one later on in the year, and doing a few short trips to some shows etc. Like you say, i can move around, stop for a bit and have little breaks now and then.

I have a bad back too mate after a 24 stone bloke jumped on me at work. Invest some of your money in a good physiotherapist and keep the blade. You'll not regret the smiles per mile this bike will give you and why get deeper in debt.

Obviously we all have our opinions and are grown up but I think you'll love it when the warmer weather arrives.

Mate, I would question the trader as to the bikes history,

    DIRECT FROM BLACK HORSE FINANCE

Is it a finance snatch back?

If that is the figures he proposes for the purchase its either £8740 on the 60 month, or £8720 on the 36 month and balloon, plus i thought anyone advertising finance was bound legally to show interest rate APR etc.

Plus, you do not own your bike if you are in a finance agreement, you cannot sell it without the agreement of the finance company, so you need to understand that he will settle your outstanding finance and your company is in the loop.

I know mate, thanks for the advice. Wish I had no debt on the bike, but with having kids at a young age I can't just spend 6k out right. It's far easier to pay monthly . I still work a bloody hard 48 hours a week and the mrs works, so it's not beyond my means. I think many of us have some sort of debt, it's what keeps us going!

If I didn't have children it would be a different story !

LOL Bloy on the kids front, I got mugged when I was told the second one come free, as we had made all the purchases and investment on the first one.......what a load of bo**ox that was.

The youngest is 20, and he is still a financial dead weight around my wallet
