How would lowering the front end by dropping the yoke down the forks affect the handling if at all? Bike's an r6.

    Cheeeeeers

The steering will be quicker, coz u've shortened the wheelbase. Good for tight twisties but can make the bike slighty un stable at speed. No expert but wouldve thought an R6 steers pretty quick from the box ?

Dunno about slightly unstable, more like very if there is anything else not perfect with the chassis. You only find out at high speed and hitting a bump in the road. Make sure you have a steering damper and only lower a few mm.

give you that, ive lowered the front end of the zx7r by 6mm and that made very little difference but its very heavy on the front and sooooooo long  compared to modern bikes

A short wheelbase, steeply raked bike will suffer more. Lowering the rear also will help.

personally YT, i wouldnt mess with the geometry of the bike at all. think it's prob the perfect set up for track and your size dude.

only my opinion of course but i'm 100% convinced you will gel and love it. suspension set up should help, plus bit more time on the bike....

whats the thoughts behind the change dude? cos if you think it doesnt turn quick enough, something up with the bike dude, my one was razor sharp on front end road and track....

Bike feels fine mate, turns in fine and feels super sharp. Just too high up!! I'm sure if its dry enough on sunday at cadders I'll get it over and grab a proper feel for it. The 750 was just a flick and knee straight on the floor, r6 is deffo higher up. But only need to lean a bit further over I suppose.

Fair enough - but wouldnt change anything until you have tried on a decent dry track, and you have all day to adjust to it. sure it'll be fine / get used to it. Shouldnt feel miles diff from the blade though tbh?

Stupid question, but bloke before didnt raise anything did he?

He was quite a large chap. The rear sets were all the way back on ACU day so I've moved them forward and down and the riding position already feels a lot more suited to me. I would say the seat hight is a good inch higher up than the blade tho

I fiddled with mine quite a lot; can't help it!

For me, the bike felt better after lowering it; be careful though as small changes on the R6 can make big changes to how it handles. Its a sharp turning bike as it is & at one point (track day at Anglesey), I went home in a mood because I couldn't ride the bugger.

There is a spacer on the top of the shock; like a thick washer. Unfortunately, its a pig to get out the first time. I removed it & cut out the back (to make it U shaped) so that it could be put in/out quickly. The spacer is only a couple of mm thick but makes a difference in riding height of around 10mm at the rear (from memory - may not be exact).

You can raise the forks through the yolks, but do it by SMALL amounts & test it.

I wanted to lower the whole bike so changed the dogbones which made the rear 30mm lower than it was (its starts off about 30mm higher than most other bikes); I also raised the forks through the yolks but only by 10mm or so.

The end result was a more stable, predictable bike which held its line very well; I also felt the lower bike overall helped with lean etc.

You may well prefer it set up on its nose like Haga, so take time to try it both ways.

As has been said YT, don't change anything yet. It is a different bike and give it time. It felt very different compared to my Blade too, but stick with it. As Jimbo has said, what rear subframe has it got? If it has a Moto46 subframe, this is lower than the stock one. Stock subframes are hard to get hold of and normally sell for £150 used.

Think it is stock because it still has all the number plate bracket etc. on the tail
